This was a super-short erotic read. If you're looking for a book with lots of character development or a complete story, this will not be for you. In 30 or so pages, this reads like a taboo, smutty, scene from a dirty magazine. This is an erotic short story about a virgin maid that is used by the master of the house and his guards for sexual pleasure.
I was expecting a bit more of a story, but after re-reading the blurb, I don't know how I got that idea in my head. The description was pretty straightforward and wasn't misleading in any way. So, that's on me.
Once I shifted my mindset and compared this story to others in it's genre, I've got to say that it was better than most of the erotic short stories I've read. It was really hot in a forbidden, guilty-pleasure way. It was a quick, salacious read and I liked it. It is the female equivalent of "spank bank" material. So, tuck this story away for a night when you're feeling naughty.
It is NOT a love story. This erotic short contains themes of rape/dubious consent and includes M/F/M and anal sex. If this does not appeal to you, look elsewhere. Now you've been warned.

The book description tells more about Lord Melchior than what is shown in the short story. The narration, as told by innocent Zaccheus, has one focus. He recounts the unforgettable evening he spent with his master, the guards, and the virgin Rasha. You learn very little about Lord Melchior, except that he has an intriguing rapport with his guards, and an unorthodox approach to handling his virginal servants. He would make a very compelling MC in a full length novel. As with all of Krylov's books, this was well-written. I read it in one sitting and wished there was more.

Um...wow! I don't know when was the last time I'd read a book and felt that it was the most erotic thing ever.
1. It is very short. It may take maybe 15 minutes to read.
2. It has no plot. It's basically a sex scene, which is disappointing because the world, from what little that was described, was what had intrigued me in the first place. I decided to call it fantasy based on the medieval setting and some of the rules that had been set into place, but given how little the reader was told of the world, I am still ambivalent.
3. This is an erotic short, not romance. It has non-con that slides into dub-con. It is menage. I think there are 5 men and 1 woman. There was voyeurism; vaginal, oral and anal sex; and dirty talk.
4. It's cheap.
The best part of this short story was probably the erotic sex scene - and the price. Rasha, the poor innocent, is deflowered and forced to orgasm by several men while pleasuring her Master orally.
I had problems though.
I was disappointed by the length of the story because I thought that the premise was interesting, based on the blurb, and I had wanted more plot and story to this. I wanted to know more about the world. Why were the serfs raised like that? Why was the Master doing this shocking thing?
The beginning sucked. It was basically the main character, Zaccheus, setting the scene in a narration to another character. It was too obviously this based on the way Zaccheus related this so the execution for the leading up to the sex scene was poor.
Rasha is a virgin, deflowered and used by several men, both vaginally and anally, while giving oral sex - and enjoying it. According to comments I've read by readers of romance, this may stretch some people's suspension of belief or even break it (or lead them to break their e-reader).
The main character is a virgin also losing his virginity and enjoying it. The m/m reader in me was as disappointed as the Master that he chose to take Rasha instead of taking her place. C'est la vie!
This needed some more editing, copy editing in particular. There was at least one line that had me confused about what was being said.

A lot less dark and intriguing than I'd hoped based on the various covers and the prospect of a Middle Ages-ish totalitarian society. Consider me slightly disappointed, too, when Lord Melchior turned out to actually be a merry fellow who loves to share sex-crazed virgins with all his buds.
Oh, and I think I literally pouted when that gay carrot that the author dangled in front of me, didn't come to fruition.. I mean, What the Pout?! :(
Still, a nicely-written smutathon, that I'd recommend for lovers of voyeurism and M/F orgies with eager participants.

This was an interesting book. It wasn't as dark as I thought it would be based on the blurb, but it was still good. At one point, it looked like there would be some m/m which I was expecting some part of after reading the blurb, but it never happens, which was a bit upsetting. All in all, it was a good book. It could have been longer which I think would have helped allow for more developments and a better understanding of the characters and the world.

Lord Melchior is the ruler of all. We don't know anything else about him other than the fact that his word is the law. When young adults are sent to work or serve for him, they know that they must do as they are told by him with no questions asked.
This brief story begins with Zacheuss, one of the young men working for Lord Melchior, telling his roommate/friend about what he witnessed while Lord Melchior entertained dinner guests. It seems that the author forgot Zacheuss was supposed to be speaking to someone else as the other man isn't mentioned again and their discussion is never finished. This book does not read as though Zacheuss is telling a story but is told from his perspective as he stood by the dining room table.
On this particular evening, the dining room had been full of men; men dining and an all-male group of employees standing by (staff members and guards). Unbeknownst to Zacheuss, Lord Melchoir has a female employee on staff now, Zacheuss seeing her for the first time at this dinner. Having not seen a female in years, the young man can't help but lay his eyes on the innocent young woman, enjoying the show he witnesses as Lord Melchior takes it upon himself, through various methods, to teach this woman to give and receive sexual pleasure.

Varian Krylov was one of my first favorite erotica authors (and I have my suspicions that she may be a pseudonym for another favorite of mine, but I don't know for sure).
Lord Melchior is a delicious nonconsent/reluctance tale, dark, maybe a bit disturbing for some. If you enjoy tales about sacrificial virgins, dominance, and moresomes, then you'll enjoy this.

I wishy washed at the rating, (smiles) came to a 4, I think it was the second time Ive actually read a erotic book that a male wrote.
The style of writing along with the characters made everything come together. It was down and dirty and to the point. Id not consider this a full length read, but maybe longer than a novella. I like the fact that its not part of a series (so far),
I did in fact like that it wasnt a flower and bunny rabbit type of story.. but of a Lord controlling every aspect of those around him. Hell being on guard duty for that Lord has some awesome perks Id say (smiles).
All in all yeah.. a good book and I look forward to reading more for this author! Enjoy

V Krylov can make the act of buttoning a shirt erotic. This very short story is really only a chapter or a scene. It was over to quickly and I was left wanting more. But as Krylov's other works it was very well written. The only thing I thought lacking was the maids screams for surely there must have been some. I appreciate that Lord M "helped her through" the experience, still. And how is it she walked out of the room afterwards? I would have had to have been carried!
I will read anything Krylov writes her stories just flow upon the page.

This is well written, crafted, all of that. I supposed the real reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because of what it is. It's just group porn in literary form. When they say a picture is a worth a thousand words, they apparently mean that literally, because it takes a lot of word-gymnastics to describe what's going on with four different people changing "positions" constantly. It's just...too much. For me, erotica has to be about the emotions involved...the dialogue, the anticipation, etc. Describing things so visually complex with words becomes, quite frankly, exhausting.

I have to laugh at this one...I was totally expecting this book to be about a despot pedo who raped and tortured little boys and girls (don't ask why I would read about that in the first place though, we all have our kinks..), what I got was actually a really sweet, hot, dirty read where everyone was smiling in the end...including the virgin...and me...

I'd like to start by saying this is a great story. I couldn't decide wheather to give the book 3,4, or 5 stars so I settled on 4. It's short, very short, but it did not disappoint.
It's twisted but I liked how it explored the age when kings rule and how they dominate all around them.

Stunning
erotic and twisted, Varian is the only person who could entice me into reading anything with a woman in it. Very dark and very potent for such a short read. The unique point of view, coming from Zaccheus, was also a welcome change. I love everything about this.
