Exceptionally informative book. I would almost call it an encyclopedia about art and architecture during the Baroque era, with focus on Rococo cathedral design and elements. Beautiful illustrations used.

A sweeping chronologue of the Baroque and Rococco era in European artistic history. Starting from the late Renaissance era and how the Baroque era came about, this book touches on many artists, and art styles including: painting, sculpture, architecture, interior design and religious items (such as tomb sculptures).

Outlining the history surrounding the eras, and what influenced each movement by artist or genre, is all included. The author delves into the different artistic styles with detail and leaves the reader with a more whole understanding of this important period for art.

Highly enjoyable and a good addition to an art lover's book collection.
