I really enjoyed this book. I am interested in WWII and the stories of the people and how they survived.
I watch many war movies so as I was reading her letters I was going over my memories about all the different movies, Battle of Britain, D Day, Memphis Belle, and many others. I also lived in Ottawa for 11 years and spent many hours thinking about where her parents were receiving the letters.
Loved all of the photos included.

To be honest it was disappointing. The letters were just a superficial account of the war experience. She made it looks like all they did was going to parties. Very few details on the actual events. However, I do understand that the letters were just a conversation that we miss the other half. She probably didn’t wanted to worry her parent either. I believe the book would have been more interesting with facts, back stories etc some kind of narrative in between the letters.
