Antihero or villain? Banok and the crew of the Catspaw return for another adventure. The rebuilding of the Druid order is going well but those who attacked it the first time have not given up on their schemes and once more Banok finds himself on a mission that he'll do anything to complete. Brutal choices and twists abound.
I’m miffed by the ending. Mind control is the cheapest shot in the book. Why not just have the villain make a phone call instead of being able to instantly incapacitate someone who can blow up a star?! The book was great in the time dilation bits. Then it just fell apart in the last chapters. Mind control, say nothing of reality just tease then walk off. I wish they had been able to just shoot the villain and I’d be happy getting no answers.

Wonderful story, diverse characters, and enough of a dark side to be different but not to much to make it feel like a negative trudge. Enjoyable finished it in one sitting I would recommend it.
Banoks character has evolved into a man that started as a slave to his emotions. But as time went by he has slowed and turned into a creature of thought.Hes more of a bad ass than ever.Cant wait for book three.
Did not enjoy as much as book one but still drawn in and difficult to put down. Not sure if there is going to be a book three but will read if there is.
