Juliette Douglas is Kentucky's Wild West Tale-Spinner. Her fast-paced hard hitting stories about strong, bold and brassy women in the old west are a winning combination for her readers. Men, women and teens alike enjoy traveling back in time eating dust, shivering in the cold, sitting around a campfire sipping coffee telling tales or riding the trail with her characters. She paints a vivid palette of landscape, hard times, true friends, quirky characters and happy endings.

Women depicted in western movies and novels in its heyday usually had the females cast as secondary characters. Ms. Douglas decided to change that, and so she has with her popular Freckled Venom Series, Perfume Powder & Lead: Holy Sisters and several new novels, Mistletoe & Horseshoes, Miss Birgit’s Dilemma and The Littlest Cowboy.

SO... SEE YOU ON THE TRAIL!!

PEOPLE CALL US GARDEN ANGELS

What can I say—well, this is an AMAZING and INFORMATIVE book. I’m not a child, I am a mother, and a grandmother and I was fascinated with all the fun facts. I will never look at opossums the same way again.

Ms. Juliette Douglas has created a book that I think is great for children and adults alike. Her information from Jina Peterson from Tiny Paws and Claws of Paducah, Kentucky adds to the understanding of these creatures and Steve Barton’s illustrations are top-notch in helping brothers, Jasper and Jake tell us the story and educate us on their breed.

“I guess we could say that we are nature’s pest control and clean-up crew!”

Where I live in a rural area at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, we have plenty of possums, and I have even had them enjoying having dinner with my two feral cats. I learned so much more about possums with this delightful and educational story. Possums are useful and important to the environment.

I was drawn to this book for two reasons: 1-I also write children's books and 2-I love possums.
Awesome Possums should be on your "read" list. The author, Juliette Douglas and illustrator Steven Barton have published this funny, yet educational book about a family of "rescue" possums. Brothers Jake and Jasper take us on a journey about life as rescued possums in a household of siblings, a kitten and "monster dog" named Scout. They tell us some really interesting possum facts as well as funny possum observations. This is a good read along book for parents and teachers as some of the words used (and explained) may be difficult for a child to read alone the first time.
The story is great! The illustrations are funny and creative.
Highly recommended...Chloe approved!

"Awesome Possums" is a cute read and ideal for little one who might live in the country or a rural settings. The opossum frequently is misunderstood, but author Juliette Douglas adds new understanding in an entertaining format. Can you imagine having them as pets? The artwork by Steven Barton is stunning, colorful and comical. I appreciated how easy it was to read on my Kindle, too. Good work y'all.

Bless You Jake and Juliette

Loved this excellent book. It's classified as a children's book, but if that's so then it's for young and old. I learned several things about these awesome animals. It's written in such a way that even the very young can understand. Beautiful drawings accompany a great story that informs and entertains. Rest in peace dear Jake.
