wtf the goodreads mobile app is crazy shit half the time wrote a review and damn thing wanna be like naw
here i go once again
super cute; i usually don’t go for unrequited love stories where BOTH PEOPLE OBVIOUSLY love each other and the other wanna cockblock their own love story but janome did a good job keeping me entertained.
once upon a time in middle school osu kenji (nickname, osuken) tried to commit suicide by jumping from the school’s roof and itami akihito stopped him, cuz dude likes to chill in the roof during break and someone jumping from the roof just gonna ruin the mood he got going on. frfr tho’ aki is a good guy and convinces kenji to live and they’ve been inseparable ever since. fast forward to their last years of high school and insert both guys BASICALLY wanting to get into the other’s pants but plot device here cockblock there. it’s a thing, though not as annoying as i would have thought (ok slightly annoying only because osuken is OKAY and WANTING to be like a dog - walking behind aki, waiting to be called on, doing what he's told, wanting to be near him at all times, having things being EXACTLY the way it is - but at the same time suppressing his desire to bite and attack)... you do get povs of both guys which is always nice.
the side characters are fantastic. I NEED A SIDE STORY OF SEIJUUROU AND MICHINAGA.
aki being the bottom was a PLEASANT surprise. can’t say i’m 100% a fan of the art, but some panels def had me doki doki all over the place. AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE COLORED ILLUSTRATION PAGE/CHAPTER 1 TITLE ILLUSTRATION GOOD LORD. i don’t see myself reading this again but i say def worth the read for the cuteness and the drama leading up to their eventual mutual love. LOVED the middle school flashback scenes. middle schooler osu.... sooo adorable.
