After having this book unread on my shelf for over 30 years, I finally picked it up. It is one of the most strangely curious reads I have ever had; I can't decide if it is a light-weight entertainment or a very serious book that should have received a much great recognition than it ever had. Either way, I am glad I finally read it. It seems to ask a very timeless question -- when the world is unquestionably mad, is the person who refuses to "go along to get along" insane?
This book is very unique. It's told completely through letters written between the main character and other entities. I found myself surprised that such a story could be told without a single line of dialogue or action. Still, the story is easy to follow and even quite gripping. It's an obscure book, but if you see it on a shelf at the library I suggest picking it up.
