This text is much better suited for frontline first responders and their family than her other book. She clearly lays out the consequences that can come with serving others as a first responder and possible negative but common responses. Reading this book might help you or help you help others you serve with. Understanding these issues before a problem arises can help one avoid risk factors, focus on resilience, and navigate any trauma related issues more successfully.
Wonderful book. As a new first responder, I needed an outlook on how to enter this profession in a healthy way. Before reading this book, I wasn’t sure how to evaluate if hard calls were affecting me + what steps to take if they were. Reading this book equipped me to care for myself + those I work with better. Every person in the emergency services should read this book.
This is an excellent, easy to read, easy to understand book that all first responders should read. Dr Glenn is a true miracle worker with her knowledge and expertise. Her toolbox for serving public safety hold the key to help anyone willing to accept her help.
