Reminiscent of an R.L. Stine story, this juvenile fiction follows a young boy named James and his sister Ruthie who are going to spend a weekend at their Grandma's house. Little do they know, Grandma has been turned into a vampire after James discovers her dipping her cookies into a mysterious red substance. After finding out about the man Victor, who turned Grandma into a vampire, James was instantly leary of Victor even after they informed him they don't drink human blood, but only animal blood from the local butcher. James feared for his little sister Ruthie's life and became worried that Victor had ill intentions. Is Victor truly sinister and up to no good like James believes?! Read the book and find out! The plot twist at the end was fun and surprising and I look forward to reading more of her Creature Feature books!
James goes to visit his grandmother. Her windows are all boarded up, and he catches her eating cookies after dipping them in blood...well it looks like blood anyway?! Is she a vampire or is he going crazy?! She ends up having an honest conversation with him--what does he tell his mom--does he ever want to visit his grandmother again?! What would you do?! I believe the kiddos will like this read.
