Ahora o nunca. Dispuesto a todo o a nada.

Another entertaining/informative book by Mark Batterson! He never fails to disappoint! Of course, a Batterson book contains personal stories, Biblical scenarios and historical texts to pound his points. "Not Safe" is a very quick and easy read! In this book, Batterson encourages the reader to be aggressive with their faith, to dream big and going all in for God. The book truly motivates and inspires! Batterson expresses our deep and total dependency on God and reveals God's power and might even in the most unnerving of circumstances. The author encourages the reader to be a DO-er in life and to not sit on the sidelines, but to be proactive in the God-assignments and God-given dreams. So, climb the cliff, build the ark, grab your ox goad and throw down your staff. Because God needs us to take a stand and we need to heed the calling of God's dangerous plan!

Same is our friend and anything that opposes our comfort is our enemy. But what if we viewed life the wrong way...what if instead of trying to make it to the end of our life safely our purpose was to step out of our comfort zone and courageously follow God! The end result of a life of comfort is a life that has not experienced growth and missed out on experiencing God and His credible work. Once again, Mark Batterson hits hard with this message of stop playing safe and start living dangerous for God. The key is not irrationality nor recklessly but completely focused on God and His calling for your life and as you follow God, some of the steps of obedience will seem dangerous and out of your comfort but the gain is far better than the comfort. This is a great book to read as individual chapters...almost like a day by day devotion. If you are looking for an great outline or path by which this book flows - you may be disappointed. Overall really good book and easy read!
*Note, this is basically a repackaged version of his book All In... same chapters and stories, slightly different headlines... so if you have or are reading that, then know that this is virtually the same book...
Overall: Another great book from Pastor Mark Batterson. Filled with key themes from his sermons and many of his other books, this one was more straightforward, challenging and bought provoking than some of his earlier books that spend more time on context and church history. Great place to start if you want to see what he’s all about, and then read more in depth in some of his other books... if you’ve read his other works, then you’ll find many themes reinforced and streamlined as reminders. Great for Christians of all levels and denominations...
“Not Safe” by Mark Batterson is like an abridged version of his book, “All In.” If I would have known this when I bought it, I would have just purchased the original book, but that being said, I still enjoyed the small volume. Batterson is an excellent writer and isn’t afraid to challenge your faith. There were many things he said about familiar Bible stories that I had not thought of before and I found myself wanting to make notes in my journaling Bible after every chapter. Very inspiring truth that sometimes hurts! Now I want to go buy “All In” and read what I missed with this shorter version!
This was an outstanding book. It is a real challenge to this age of Christian......we play our life safe, but if we are true to faith we will be like Christ. He never played it safe but rather followed the Lord in spite of the opposition, persecution, resistance, and discomfort involved. A superb read. Loved it.
In true Batterson fashion, this book is convicting, encouraging and written in a unique combination of boldness and humility. Thank you Mark for engaging God’s gift in you for the benefit of many.
Super quick read. A challenge to go all in for Christ and not just play defense. I love the examples and stories he includes in the book to help illustrate his ideas! I received this book as a graduation gift 4 years ago and wish I had picked it up sooner but better later than never.
An incredible book and would recommend everyone read it. Anyone that needs to be challenged in their walk with Christ. As a friend said pure brilliance.
I don’t believe anyone can really absorb this and be the same after!! I highly recommend. I believe this book is a seed that will impact fruit for eternity.
I love all of Mark Batterson's books, and this one is right up with the rest. It makes you think about your relationship with Jesus. Not Safe means all in for Jesus. The question is there.... Do you choose safe, or not safe?
