Great story line and characters, Awesome !! Loved this book. The storyline was so interesting that it had me turning pages in anticipation of where it would lead . I was very intrigued with the characters in the story. Simply awesome . Definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read. I would recommend to others. Worth the read and the money! "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Written in first person by Elin Wyn & Ava York, Rogue Warrior is the 5th book in the Rogue Star series, and switches perspectives between the Shein male Valtic and the human female Lynna.
The birthrate for human males had dropped so low that it was rare a woman encountered a man outside of a reproduction agreement. Courting was never something human females were prepared for. It was something only found in history books. So that meant that EVERY human female was a virgin until they decided to procreate, and even then, romance was non-existent. The few men alive fucked multiple women for the sole purpose of making babies and relationships were not a thing. I'm sure those men were in heaven; getting to have sex all the time with no obligation or commitment. Women on the other hand? Let's just say that I'm sure this version of our future had more lesbians than this series hinted to. Let's face it, we've been giving ourselves orgasms for centuries and we don't need a man to accomplish that.
I've decided to stop including details about the main character's backgrounds because it's too time consuming. And since these books are stupid long with little writing talent included, I don't want to waste more of my time than necessary.
I would recommend reading this series in order, but in the event that you didn't, here's what you missed: In the first book, the Persephone space station on Pluto (where the 30 human females lived) was hit by a shockwave and destroyed. The Shein, who were nearby on a mission to harvest ice from Pluto, rescued the women and fled the Dominion. 3 humans were killed during a job, bringing their number down to 27. The Shein harbored the humans, giving them rooms and jobs and keeping them safe. They were looking for income, by the way of transporting illegal shipments, after the Dominion declared the Rogue Star unsanctioned. They remodeled the ship and were headed to a planet called Katzul for work. In the 2nd book, they made it to Katzul and took a shady job delivering packages. Something didn't feel right about the delivery, so Aavat and Shenna investigated the matter undercover, discovering that females from unknown planets were being sold at auctions as slaves to the highest bidders. Not wanting to turn a blind eye, the crew rescued an entire lot of alien females, then headed towards the Qasar Station. In the 3rd book, they made it to Qasar Startion with the rescued aliens aboard the Rogue Star, which included a mole named Princess Tiatra. A bounty hunter took over the ship, but the crew eventually fought their way free and regained control, killing the intruders. In the 4th book, they returned to Qasar. Aryn and Kovor went undercover into the Enclave where they saved three captured Mermian women and discovered that the name of the Dominion ship chasing them was named The Terror.
In this book, they returned to Katzul and Lynna (the medic) and Valtic (the gruff head of security) go undercover after being told by their former employer where the Terror was docking. They attached some tracking devices on the Terror with proximity sensors, and downloaded all the data from the ship. We are still not any closer to solving the boringly elaborate scheme behind the scenes with the Dominion.
First intercourse took place around the 68% mark; the soonest yet! The author(s) still dangled the cheese for so long that it molded. Fuck!ng yawn. The Shein have a secondary appendage just above their thick cock that supposedly stimulates the clitoris. Or, in Doggystyle, penetrates the anus. Their monster cocks are lined with ridges, making it every woman's dream dildo. Oh, and they vibrate. The buildup to the couple coming together was boring af. Something else worth mentioning is how much the writing is inaccurate. I'm sorry, but the author(s) have yet to capture the authentic or realistic bodily reaction to a women losing her virginity on a massively thick cock (which brings up another point, how do they know that the cocks are monsters if they don't have anything to compare it to, having never seen a cock before?). There's no depiction of the sting or pinch from the hymen being broken, no awkward discomfort, no soreness after the fact. Just pleasure and bliss from being in love and experiencing orgasmic nervana. Almost like the writers are still virgins themselves, with zero clues about how this shit really works. 🤔🤷🏼♀️ Either that, or maybe evolution had eliminated the hymen altogether. 🙄
This book was longer than necessary, and the adventure to romance ratio was heavily unbalanced. Overall, I was extremely disappointed, and so far, I don't recommend the read, especially since I know what Ava York is capable of. I will speed read the rest of this series because apparently I'm a glutton for punishment. 🤦🏼♀️

This is a delightful romance between an outgoing doctor and a grumpy security guy. He has all the signs of PTSD (who in this genre doesn't?) and she has had enough trauma to understand.
This story had me dwelling on the idea of people thinking they are expendable. Underneath the honor and bravado of warriors, is usually a message about how they are expendable in the face of whatever cause is important at the time. It's a complicated line of thought that can go in many directions. As the MMC thinks to himself,
“...my probable death would be less harmful to the crew than hers. I was the expendable one, not her. Couldn’t they see that? Couldn’t she see that?”
Kudos to the author for shining a light on PTSD and the false notion that any living being is expendable.
And because banter is a sign of good characterization and relationships between people, here is a short conversation about cake that made me smile. It's between Kalyn (MFC from first book) and the MFC from this one.
“You just have to be honest. March up to him and tell him exactly how you feel.”
“How about I write it on a cake and throw it at him? That’s less scary.”
“He’ll have to read the writing before it hits his face,” Kalyn pointed out. “Terrible plan.”
“Right. That’s the only reason why it’s a terrible plan,” I snorted.
Valtic is the security officer on board the Rogue Star. He isn't a social person at all. Lynna is the human doctor. The women threw her a birthday party and Valtic showed up for a couple minutes and left. Lynna took him some cake later and decided that she wanted to get to know him. It didn't quite work out the way she hoped. They had to work together a couple of times in their pursuit of the bad guys from the Enclave and Dominion. Which in turn brought them closer and Valtic's attitude started to change. There is a reason for his standoffish-ness. Eventually he shares his past with her. We are getting closer to finding out what is going on. I am excited for the next book!
I've been waiting for Lynna's story for a while now and it did not disappoint!!! Lynna is such a sweet and kind doctor with a persistent, stubborn streak a mile long. It's in her nature to want to help everyone, so when she sets her sights on Valtic she can't help but feel the need to get to know him better while pulling him out of his self isolation. Valtic has closed himself off from everyone as a personal, protective measure but finds it harder and harder to maintain the wall he built up as Lynna wiggles her way into his heart and mind. Their story is so good and really made me fall in love with them! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
I rather liked Lynna. She's a positive character even with the loss of life she has had to face. Valtic starts off the book as very stand-offish, but I liked getting to know more about him and why he reacts the way he does as the book developed. I thought their relationship was sweet for the most part, but ultimately they really do work well together. They were a good balance for each other.
This story builds a bit more on the overall plot arc that is building with the mysterious enemy. It will be interesting to see how the next book continues this arc.
Another amazing book in the Rogue Star series. In this book we see sparks fly between Lynna the human doctor on board and head of security Valtic. Valtic holes himself up in his office or as Lynna calls it his cave and never leaves. He feels guilty for the breach of security that they had aboard the ship and wont allow anything to distract him.....even the human doctor......the beautiful doctor that stands up to him to demand what his problem with her is..... The two are thrust in danger and Valtic finds that he wants to keep Lynna safe even if it means locking her up in his cabin and in his bed...forever
This might be my favorite in the series so far. They have all been so good! Valtic is the security officer. He suffers from PTSD and has closed himself off from everyone. He’s been mentioned a few times, but no one knows him. Lynna (our doctor and everyone’s best friend) has always been a total sweetheart. Turns out that under all the emotional scars, Valtic is just as sweet as she is. I absolutely adore this couple.
The story was exciting and kept your attention from beginning to end. It's packed with adventure, drama, mystery as each book goes on, and steamy hot romance with awesome characters? A must buy and so ready to read the next book in the series.
Really loved this book about Lynn's and Valtic. You know the persistently sweet doctor was going to crack the hard shell around this Warrior and get to the gooey inside eventually.
Lynna is a doctor on their rescuers ship and has a compulsive need to make sure the crew is relatively happy. So she harrasses Valteck to join in socially with less than stellar results.
Love this entire series. Wounded, grumpy valtic & quiet, caring Lynna make a great couple. Their adventure is action packed, sexy & intriguing. Can’t wait to see what’s next.
I'm really enjoying this series and am definitely looking forward to the next installment!. The story line isn't predictable and I really like the characters!
I love this series. This one was very intense and suspenseful. The relationship was hot and seductive. There was drama and more twists and turns in the plot.
