Amazing book. One I could not put down. Read in one setting.
A woman - without a name - in a non-named hospital undergoes open heart surgery. From the initial testing thru the ICU we follow this woman - almost day by day. From the initial impatience and fear, through hearing the medical staffs comments while semi conscious, to the litany of problems and complications, we are privy to every procedure.
The authors forethought of not mentioning the womans' name or the hospital allows you to realize that this could be any woman at any hospital - even you.
Short book, captivating, spellbinding, scary and so very possible.
