Students could have group discussions about role of historical figures involved in the battle at Gettysburg. This book will also help students describe the battle at Gettysburg and its significance. The teacher can also use this text to stress the importance of the battle at Gettysburg or use it as play or re-enactment discussing the road to Gettysburg and the battle in detail.
I had to read this book, for my history class but I actually enjoyed reading it. I like learning about history and I thought this book was an interesting way to learn about the battle of Gettysburg. Good nonfiction read.
