A Comprehensive Workbook for Bass Trombone and Trombone with F-attachment

Rate this book
Jeff Reynolds has written a masterful work based on his lifetime in music, primarily as the Bass Trombonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic from 1969 to 2006.

Mr. Reynolds has written down for posterity his ideas on perfecting technique on the Bass Trombone or Tenor Trombone with F-attachment, practicing, audition list materials and strategies, performing, ”smart“ playing, the G- flat valve, solo repertoire and recommended study books. He writes about who were his mentors and how they inspired him throughout his playing career.

The book includes 16 Compline Chants to perfect lyrical playing and phasing and writes about his passion for this ancient form of liturgical music.

This ”workbook“ is more than the sum of its parts. It describes an attitude about work, discipline, passion, career and love of music. Mr. Reynold‘s book is a must for all serious Bass Trombonists. Included is a foreword from former student and Bass Trombone virtuoso, Ben van Dijk.
