We didn’t talk about death in our family. Thanks to this book, we will start the conversation.

This book gave shape and form to the unfathomable: the inevitable loss of all we hold dear. Eirew and Hawley’s gentle and practical handbook demonstrates how to find the courage and compassion to deal with the awful finality of it all. I read, at first with trepidation - after all, who wants to confront their own mortality? By the closing chapters, I read with a sense of something approaching peace knowing that a shared language, a common understanding and a sensible plan regarding death would see us all through.

An excellent book that walks an individual through challenges and decisions associated with terminal illness. It feels like Gaby and Pipa are sitting in your living room giving compassionate words of wisdom.
Working with cancer patients this year, I have valued the wisdom and perspective of this book. The authors write from a Canadian context and in a way that can be helpful to those from a variety of spiritual traditions (or lack of).

A Sensitive and Practical Resource

What a lovely book! I was impressed by the breadth of practical issues and common concerns that the authors covered. Not only do I have a better understanding of what to expect when dealing with terminal illness, but I feel better equipped to have important conversations. Thank you!
