If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it’s yours…right?
Eight years after moving away from her hometown of Miami, Cherokee is back home to take care of her sickly grandmother. While trying to stay low and off the scene, she puts all her focus into her job and her family. That is, until the man who broke her heart many years ago unexpectedly walks into her life once again.
Along with his right-hand man, Dillinger Rivera has the streets on lock. He’s just weeks away from getting married to his beautiful fiancée Carmilla and couldn’t be happier. Nothing can knock him off his square, until his first love Cherokee steps back on the scene with some secrets that change Dillinger’s life forever.
Santos has been trying to walk the straight and narrow with his longtime girlfriend A’Layla ever since she left him due to his infidelity. When she took him back, he vowed never to hurt her again and had been holding true to that until one secret he had kept buried comes back to bite him in the worst way possible. When Santos finds out that Layla has a few secrets of her own, will they put an end to what they’ve built for over a decade, or will Santos fight tooth and nail for the only woman that has ever had a place in his heart?
Cherokee and Dillinger were young sweethearts that were torn apart by unfortunate circumstances. The story begins when they are thrown back together after 8 years apart. The characters were developed. The audio production was well done. The story moved a bit slow, so it took me about a week to finish book one, but about 70% in it finally caught my attention and I'm on to part two.
This book was everything and held my attention from the very first page. I love me some Cherokee and the friendship between her and Layla. The ending is crazy and it has me in edge. I'm definitely starting part 2 right now to see how everything plays out.
This was a pretty good read... It read at a nice fast steady pace... It kept me reading and wanting more... There was some moments that had me shaking my head and wondering why someone thought a certain way... I liked some characters and some just got on my nerves... I liked Cherokee I was glad to see that she finally put her foot down when it came down to Dilly... Then when she came back in town it was like he was able to break her back down again and made her a side chick... Until once again she finally realized what she was to him and put her foot down... But it may just be to late because it looks like she is caught up all over again... Dilly was a little cocky and tho it ygt that he could keep treating Cherokee any way and she would always come back to him... But the last time was really the last straw for him... And all because of this he ended up losing 8 important years... but he is now about to get married and Cherokee is back and just shock up everything... But not enough to make Dilly stop his marriage to Camilla... But This marriage never really got a chance... But now that Cherokee has shut Dilly down and there us a threat at home... Is Dilly finally wildly to let Cherokee go and focused on his wife... Then we have Santos and A'Layla... He just kept doing her wrong... Just out here cheating... Well one day a big secret came out and Layla was able to finally wall away... In the mean time she had a secret of her own... And of course just like a man... he could dish it but could not take it... But the difference is that what She did happened when they were not together... But he thought she should just get over what he did because of what she did... but it was just to much... Layla was just living the single life then met a nice man named Jacier... This really started opening her eye to what she put up with for 12 years with Santos... Ao when Santos came back around he thought that he could just make things go back to the way they were but he was in for a rude awakening... Okay wait a minute I can't believe that Dilly just allowed Cherokee to end up in this situation... he promise her that she would be okay... But I guess because he is in his little feelings he pulled protection away... How will Cherokee get out of this... Will she be able to tell Dilly what we already know is wrong with her or will this be it for her... What will happen with the love triangle between A'Layla, Santos and Jacier... Now I have to wait for part 2 ugh...
I got a dollar....i got a dollar.... I got a dollar HEY HEY HEY (IN MY BEST LITTLE RASCALS VOICE)!!!!!!!!!!!
Lol the only things I can say negative is that one it coulda been longer cause I'm feening now and two is that it was kind of predictable and I'm not used to that from Charmanie....granted I didn't know exactly how it was gone end off but it seems like a lot of things u could pretty much tell okay this is what's gone happen which it ain't really a bad thing for me cause I love being right and I was so into it i jumped up like oooohhhh I KNEW IT....Except for Carmilla.....i thought she was gone go the other way to be honest.....soon as it came out I was like ohhh okay I see u lil spoiled one okay lol....other than that I loved it. Keep it coming love I can't wait for part 2.
My first time reading this author and she did her thang! I loved this book from the beginning to the to be continued. Dillinger I like him, no matter the circumstances. He was young doing what teenagers do. I can honestly say it because I have brothers and two sons. However I don’t agree with the illegal lifestyle. Camilla I don’t like...but she was a real one for standing by her man and telling the truth I just don’t see how all of this is going to pan out because we know with the bomb that’s about to be dropped if and when Cherokee takes that test. I’m having mixed feelings about Lay and Santos. While I was routing for them to work it out, it took for a real man to come and put it in her life and not on no sexual type tip. I hope Santos let it go and allow A’Layla be happy. Now to part 2.....
I thought Cherokee and Dillinger crossing paths again would lowkey turn into a soulmate type storyline, but I should’ve known it was going to be more complicated than that. I wanted to like Dillinger, but he and Santos are both off their rockers! Dillinger has that roughneck tryna go legit thing going on and he’s a bit rough around the edges to say the least. I want to like Jacier, but with all the local “gang” violence going on, I feel like he’s up to something. He’s good for Layla, almost too good and the timing of it all with her relationship with Santos…yeah I got eyes on that one. I ended up liking this more than I initially thought I would. Lovers can switch up their personalities like changing underwear. It’s scary out here! Cherokee, Camilla, and A’Layla need to be on their toes around these lunatics!

It’s hard to tell what direction these couples will go in. Santos and Layla have been together since middle school. They have a strong bond but not the kind of romance most adult couples who went through a courting phase would have. They hurt each other when secrets were revealed. Jacier seems to be exactly what Santos was lacking. Will Santos let her move on? Cherry left Dilly in the dust as she should’ve but the grass wasn’t greener. I have the feeling that it’s just heating up for her with her crazy ex and the triangle of Dilly, Carmilla, and Cherry. Dilly still doesn’t deserve her but Maybe his protection and co parenting can make him more deserving. Great start to a sure to be dope series.
I can't decide which guy I like more. Dillinger is the boss and he doesn't care what he says or how he says it. He's all about taking care of those he loves, no matter what he has to do. Santos is Dilly's right hand man and he's just as reckless with his mouth. He'll fight anybody, isn't scared of nobody, unless it's Layla lol. Even Jacier had me impressed with him, with his cool, take it how you want self. Cherokee, Layla and Charmilla have their hands full with these guys. There was just enough drama, heartfelt and jaw dropping moments in the book to grab and keep my attention. Cherokee is in for a fight with the way this one ended.
That 1st love is nothing to play with or about!!!…I love how Cherokee grandmother did not play about her or her heart!!!…My heart broke with her leaving Cherokee!!!… Mateo didn’t and don’t play about his momma either!!!… Layla let it be known that she knew her worth and what she would and would not put up with, but the fact that she was angry that her man has a baby from the woman he cheated with when they were together, but she ended a pregnancy from a different man boggles my mind!!!… I can’t wait to see what happens to Chad and now that Cherokee ex is back on the scene!!!… Carmilla is irking my nerves though!!!…
Welcome back! Came back with a bang! From start to finish I really enjoyed reading this book. Although these days for some reason, I’m reading a lot of similar storylines, but fortunately they are all good in their own way sand have their own uniqueness. I hope that Layla and Santos work out their differences. I like them together. Jacier, hmmm too good to be true...yea those types. Dillinger and Cherokee also needs to get it together. Can’t wait for part two to see how this drama unfolds.
This book was so good from beginning to end and what a ending. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters and I couldn't put it down....a page-turner. Santos and Lay needs to get it together. I something about Javier, he's too good to be true and he just popped up. Really liked Dillinger and Cherokee work everything out, cause they're still very much in love. That ending caught me off guard, wasn't expecting that. Can't wait for the next installment, to see what happens next. Great way to return Charmanie Saquea.
I just knew Keymar was going to come sooner rather than later. Cherry about to be in fear of her life and now her and Dilly are not even on speaking terms. Layla and Santos are but crazy but I see why Layla is so upset because he was going to keep his child a secret for god knows how long if he never been caught. Jacier is cool but I feel like it's a motive behind him talking to Layla. I am so sick of Carmilla she just irritates me. About to read part 2 to see what it's going to bring
Man this book was so good I couldn't out it down and was mad when it ended. That Cherokee was a mess she tickled me when Dilly came in the meet Carmilla at her business. Do I know you? I did laughing at her. Dillinger was definitely Cherokee's Savage and Carmilla's husband and I hope they get it together. Layla and Santos both had secrets and need to get it together or let it go. I can't wait for part 2 to see what happens next
I truly enjoyed this book. I am already anxious for part two. These characters are a trip. Santos and Lay need to get it together. If they can’t get past the issues then Santos needs to leave well enough alone. Dilly needs to figure out what he wants to do because he can’t have his cake and eat it to. His actions earlier on caused the events that led to how things are. Hopefully he makes the right decision.
When I say my favorite author came out swinging with this series
I dont know if i hate or love Dilly. All i want is for my Cherry to be happy, thats all I want. I love me some Layla and her new boo. Please dont let him be to good to be true, all this running back to ATL. Santos thats another one where I cant tell if i like him or not. Keymar popped up omg, how will part 2, play out.
So glad that Charmaine is back on her pen game!!! She definitely doesn’t disappoint with every book she has dropped and I’m glad to see her back. I loved this book and can’t wait for part 2 and hopefully she raps up some other series that has left us hanging soon.
Cherokee deserves to be happy why is Dillinger have to be such a jerk. What will Dillinger do know since he obviously has gotten hisself caught up again. Layla deserves to be happy Santos messed up but she did too. Cherokee past has caught up with her can Dillinger save her or will it be to late.
Yes, Charmaine you came back like you never left...I absolutely loved this book. It was good from the very beginning...I hope Cherry and Dilly gets together. I think there’s something up with Jacier...I wasn’t expecting that ending at all...this is most definitely a must read..you did the darn thing with this book.. I can’t wait to read part 2...
Book was kind of slow at the beginning. Dillinger and Santos are doing the most. Camille isn’t grimy in book 1 so he really didn’t have a reason to go there with Cherokee. Cherokee should fine her a man that’s worthy of her. Santos did the most and wants to be mad. Jacier deserves Layla and I hope he gets her.
Whew. Charmanie Saquea did her big one on this book. These characters are like no other. I'm team Cherokee. They really be trying to play in her face in this book. Dillinger is a grade a nut bag. The rest of the character will have you questioning if you crazy or not. From middle school sweethearts to infidelity. This book will have you on the edge of your sit. 10/10 I definitely recommend.
Man this book is so good. First Cherokee & Dilly play so many games. Then Santos & Lay ..... it don't even make sense that they going thru, what they goin thru. I can't wait for the next one to drop cuz the way it ended ....
So much drama in this book but I love it and that ending.. OmG.. Can't believe Santos and I honestly hope Jacier ain't on no BS with Lay cuz she deserve happiness. I'm kinda hurt that Dilly chose Carmilla over Cherry .. For now..
Man I loved this story Dilly is the man but I sonar know what he thinks he doing like he's really going to leave his cherry alone Charmaine really made a come back with this one can't wait for pt 2
I need more of this well written story. The story has a steady flow, drama, secrets and more. Well developed characters that are likeable, interesting and keeping secrets. Great cliffhanger that definitely leaves you ready for part two.
This my first time reading this Author and I must admit it want be my last this book was good I'm glad Part 2 is out because I'm curious to know how Cherokee ex got pass the security Dillinger had in her.
Oooowwweee this book is so juicy & drama filled! I love me sum Layla she a fool with them razors! Lol Santos better be afraid! Cherokee is living her very own version of love & the restless. Goodness! Can’t wait to read the next installment!
Loved it!! Layla and Cherokee love their friendship. Dillinger a savage at his finest. Santos is yummi.. I hope him and Layla make it but I do like her new boo. He's no chump! And Lawd what's going to happen to Cherokee and the mad man??
Been in love with this authors work for years. I am super happy that I stumbled across this book because I missed her writing. Great job , that ending. These secrets woah!
I don't know about this one , it was a ok read . Kept my attention a little bit but at times I just wanted the author to stop dragging it out already . The ending had me like whoa really . I'm going to read part 2
