Thugs Love Good Girls. When Savannah made the move from Dallas to Houston, she hoped for the best but feared the worst. She had plans to become a nurse and marry a man just like her father. However, God had other plans for the beautiful young Southerner. “Never judge a book by its cover”, were the words Caesar told her when they met. She looked down on him because he wasn’t her type. However, once she got to know him, she realized that he was exactly what she wanted. She was thrust into his world of madness, mayhem and chaos as he struggled to reach his goal of an H-Town Boss. Riding for her man, Savannah is respected by many but hated by few. Even though her circle is small, consisting of her three besties, Porsha, Princess and Ciara, she will soon find out that circle isn’t as round as it seems. Someone in her camp is one of the biggest haters and shadiest snakes who will stop at nothing to take over Savannah’s position as queen of the castle. As Caesar rules the streets of Houston, she rules their kingdom. What happens when she is pushed to fight for her spot? What happens when she is forced to choose between her friends? In a surprising turn of events, Savannah finds herself having to choose between her life or the life of her beloved husband. Will she make the right decision in time? Or will she become a young widow? Follow Savannah as she tries to keep her spot as queen and save her husband’s life in the process.
Ciara was one delusional chick. I couldn’t stand her. She causes so much trouble and because of it someone that didn’t deserve to lost their life. Caesar loved him some Savannah. Those two were the cutest couple. Layla and Quincy definitely weren’t made for each other. She gave up entirely too quick because of certain things. I was glad the boys put some of their lives back together and let go of the hurt they were holding onto. This was overall a good read.
Tooo much! Is there a part 2 somewhere I have some unanswered questions! Caesar was bae all day. I don’t know what type of mess he was working with smh. But it had Ciara delusional after one time. One time! Make it make sense please. That broad was coo coo for coco puffs🤦🏽♀️. That plot twist though I never would’ve thought it. Incredible
Mannnn Ciara was just nuts!!! Smh This was a good read from beginning to end..... Savannah and Caeser made a great couple and once they got over the bumps in the beginning!! I'm glad that Quincey and Caeser finally let their Mom back in their life her story had me teary eyed!! Great read Lady Lissa
Now Savannah knew she was wrong for judging Caesar. I’m so glad she gave him a chance. Now Ciara was a trifling hot darn mess. Who does that??? I was shocked with Layla’s behavior. I thought she would’ve stuck around. Good book.
My emotions were everywhere while reading this banger. Lady Lissa knocked it out the park with this 5 star read. It held my attention to the very end. The characters were so believable. Savannah and Caesar belonged together. Beautiful story!
It was an okay read. The story was complete but the way the timeline jumped threw me off. I do enjoy this author though so this won’t be the last book I read by her.
Good job on writing this book Melissa. I really enjoyed it from star to finish. Thank goodness Ciara is out of the way so that Savannah and Cesar gave live a happy life.
LOVED IT FROM BEGINNING TO END... CIARA WAS NOBODY FRIEND NOT EVEN TO HER OWN SELF SHE WAS HOLDING ON TO A LOVE NOBODY SAW BUT HER... SAVANNAH WAS MADE FOR CEASER DIDN'T LIKE HOW HE CAME AT HER IN THE BEGINNING BUT IN THE END IT WORKED OUT... VERYYYYYY SMALL WORLD FOR STERLING TO BE DATING HER MOM... GLAD QUINCY GROWN UP AND STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE FOR MORGAN AND HIS MOM... I LOVED THE FRIENDSHIPS BETWEEN THE GIRLS AND GUYS...
First time reading this author and I will probably read another of her books; it was that good... Ceasar and Savannah, well they were perfect match made in heaven. Although they were very opposite, but had as much in common than the next couple. Ceasar started out low and grind in before becoming his own boss. He was generally a wonderful person.. Savannah, not only was she an educated strong black woman but she was THE ride or die chick... She supported her man through everything and that made her super beautiful... Truly a wonderful story... So glad Ciara and Sterling got what they deserved, but what happened to Savannah's mom, marriage and baby??? And where was Porsha at the end? Only downside, was that all of this was going on, and not one chapter described Ceasar and Savannah's wedding and honeymoon and the whole enchilada....someone dropped the ball there!!!
This was an ok read for me. I've read this author's books and they are usually really good. Savannah actually got on my last nerves. It was something about her I did not like. I was glad she finally saw through ciara. The book ended so abruptly. I would have liked to have seen how things ended up with savannah's mother with sterling out the picture and her being pregnant. One thing that confused me was Savannah going to college to become a LPN, since when do you go to college for that? Maybe it's different in other states. I'm BY LPN's are almost non existent. You cannot work in hospitals. Nursing homes and clinics. We have trade schools where you can take it in nine months that's why the college part confused me. We call them glorified nursing assistants. The book kept my attention enough but not my favorite book.
This was an excellent read. Savannah and Caesar are made for each other. It took them a year after meeting each other to finally get together and have been inseparable ever since. I hate a bitter bihhh and that's exactly what Ciara was, oh and delusional. I don't know how she thought her and Caesar was in a relationship, just crazy. She was never Savannah friend. I was kinda rooting for Quincy and Layla to work it out but he found love in his baby mama Lana and they happy. I'm glad they finally heard their mother out and now they're in a better place with her. Amazing book.💓💗
Caesar and Savannah Both characters had experienced parental loss and found comfort in each other. Once they got to know each other. Unfortunately, there were surprises, death, betrayals, lies, and haters trying to tear this couple apart. The supporting characters Jordan, Quincy, Ciara, Lana were as interesting as the primary couple. Ciara was expertly written. She personifies many a young foolish woman today. This story was action packed, had developed characters and was well-written all WITHOUT errors. Hats off to Lady Lissa for penning such an entertaining standalone and to her and her team for publishing such professional work.
This was a definite page turner. Jealousy played a major role in this story. Ciara was in a imaginary relationship. She just wouldn't give up. And that pic got her the well overdue butt kicking. I felt bad that Jordan was caught in a jealous rampage. Caesar and Savannah was opposites and she finally let him in and never looked back. I was happy that she set up the dinner with Caesar and Quincy's mom. Her story was heartfelt. Princess and Marcus finally gave in after all that playing. Great Job
There was so much wrong with this book. First, I didn’t like the writing style of the book. There was too much back in time and POV from each character. It just seemed like filler to me. Also, time line didn’t Match up and the rushed towards the end. I do t get how her mom dated sterling for over two years Snd Ceaser didn’t know. I do s like Quincy in the beginning however he seemed more boss than his brother. I didn’t really like this book and expected more
Really good story. I enjoyed reading. Great character development. These characters were definitely put to the test in more ways than one. There were true friendships but not everyone had good intentions or deserved the title of best friend. I liked Savannah and i understood what she wanted out of a relationship but she was a bit judgemental and hypocritical at times. Overall, a good read. Everyone got their happy ending and those who had bad intentions were dealt with accordingly.
I gave this a 1 star because the story was rushed and illogical. Being a native of Houston, the Language and terminology was inaccurate. The dates were off: i.e. Uber started in 2009, which would have made the boys 11 when their mom left. Savanah's mom had her at 17? There were holes in the plots. Then for savannah to say she and Cesar been though a lot? Like what exactly? Hopefully, this author will work on fleshing out a believable story for the next books.
Omg this was a really good book. Cierra was loco and delusional. She had this imaginary relationship with Caesar that ended her life. Poor Jordan was caught in her cross fire of hate. Savannah and Caesar were perfect together and I'm happy they got there happy ending. Quincy and Lana I had a feeling once Layla was out the picture would work it out. I'm glad everything these two guys went through without a mom worked out and they ended getting her back. Great book.
Ciara was just crazy and Savannah was silly to keep being friends with someone who she knew wanted her man. It was a decent read. I didn’t agree with Savannah with all the judging. Caesar and Sterling was both dealers but some how she felt like Sterlin was a low life. You can’t Plan to kill someone and think they wouldn’t eventually find out and let you be. The game is not played like that. Unfortunately someone paid with their life.
This was such a good story and it was refreshing to get a look inside the relationships of the characters. The write also gives a look at it is not always what you see but who you actually are.I loved the fact that we didn't get a larger then life Caesar, nut someone who struggled sometimes to be a rational thinking person who sometimes struggled with himself. This was good with just enough drama to keep your intrest and have a couple of holla out loud moments.
Where do I begin? That damn Ciara that hoe was so delusional with friends like her who needs enemies. Let it go sis well I guess she finally did trifling trick. Posrsha seen the hoe she was from the start. I ‘m mad about Jordan you didn’t have to do my boy like that. I still have questions. Who killed Caesar and Quincy’s dad? Who the hell is Miranda’s baby daddy? What happened to Savanna’s mom? Is there a follow up book? Don’t leave your readers hanging. Loved the book
I enjoyed this book, but it left some unanswered questions. How Savannah's mom cope with Sterling situation. Who was the female that reached out to Ceasar about a son. How Layla and Quincy relationship go from strong to weak. He was so wack not to consider her feeling when Lana entered the picture. Love Princess and Savannah relationship. Cesar truly loved Savannah.
Just wow! Ciara was a delusional witch. I can’t believe the lengths that she went through to try and get rid of Savannah. Her jealousy was on a complete other level. I was surprised that she and Sterling were related tho. I lived Caesar and Savannah’s relationship. Great read.
Ciara was coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs. Instead of Sterling trying to get rid of somebody he should of got her some help. Layla disappointed me the most. Lana was being a little to desperate to me. I guess it paid off. Glad Ceasar and Quincy gave their Mother a chance. Savannah was just what Caesar needed. I'm happy it wasn't Scott who did that to Jordan
I'm glad this was a standalone. I couldn't stomach another book of Ciaras crazy! The fact that Savannah mother had a whole relationship / engagement almost unbeknownst to her daughter was a little odd to me, but I guess they had to tie that fool Sterling in some kinda way.
Ciara was a sick freak. I'm so glad Savannah put it on Ciara. Caesar and Quincy i love them. They dad raise them right. So glad they got back together with they mom. Layla did not love Quincy, because if she have she would not had left him. Lana and Quincy glad they got back together.
I gave this book 5 stars very good book don't think I ever cried so hard reading a book but Jordan's death and funeral was sad I knew ciear was behind his murder crazy chick. Cesar and Savannah love and bond was a real example of real love a bond that could never be broken good book
I love this story so much. Lady Lissa did a fantastic job at proving to us that we never should judge a book by its cover. Caesar and Savannah were from two different sides of the track, but Caesar loved her the moment he saw her. This is the kind of story that makes your heart melt. I recommend this book very highly; five stars Lady Lissa. I love your work!
I really enjoyed this book. Clara was a certified lunatic. Poor thing. I cried real tears when Jordan died. That was tragic. Caesar was bae all day and he and Savanah made a beautiful couple. Happy Princess found love. Glad things worked for Quincy and Lana. Glad that they allowed their mom back in their lives. I wasn't ready for this story to end.
I gave a 4 because even though it was an interesting story some parts didn't make sense to me. Like Ciara been related to Sterling, the mom dating Sterling, the brothers insurance payout, their mom reappearance and her story. I didn't think Ciara's character was credible . I love that this story was a standalone.
