كاتب مصري رائد في أدب المغامرات له عدد من سلاسل الكتب البوليسية والألغاز للأطفال والشباب أبرزها المغامرون الخمسة، والشياطين ال13. ولد سالم في الإسكندرية عام 1929، لأب يعمل ضابطًا بحريًا في خفر السواحل، ما أتاح له التنقل والعيش أثناء طفولته في عدة مدن ساحلية كالإسكندرية والمنزلة وبلطيم وغيرها>

دخل عالم الصحافة كمحرر فى أول مجلة تصدرها الثورة عام 53 وهى «التحرير»، ليترأس بعدها تحرير مجلة «الإذاعة والتليفزيون»، ووقتها بدأ فى كتابة سلسلة المغامرين الخمسة كمغامرات صغيرة ضمن مجلة «سمير»، وبعدها بدأ نشر الألغاز كأعمال مستقلة عام 1968.

تخصص في أدب الطفل من خلال السلاسل البوليسية قدمت الافادة والمتعة أهمها سلسلة المغامرون الخمسة وأبطالها تختخ ولوزة وعاطف ومحب ونوسة الذين رافقوا أجيالا متعاقبة. وسلسلة الشياطين ال13. كما قدم للأطفال السيرة النبوية في شكل مبسط وواضح.

I did not read this book when it was published when I was 12 or something. This book targeted this age. It was a part of a series and it was quite popular during its time. I hated the book deeply. I am not sure I would have liked the book if I read it when I was young.
I hated the idea of conspiracy theories as well as the mere talk of Arab unity.
The writing technique is absolutely horrible. It is mere telling not showing. It is all the things any writer should not do ever. The description is insufficient and does not put you in the events or make you grasp it.
It might introduced children to new ideas but in the same sense it created more distorted minds that I witness every day who one day read these books while growing up.
It is more of a security agency writing a book so it can deliver certain messages to the unconscious minds of the young adults or children. As a result reading this book 21 years after it is published made me feel a huge amount of gratitude for my parents who did not buy these books for me and made me choose my own books to read.
This book has a second part and I don't think I will read or look for it.
The plot is not developed properly at all
