Keith Kareem Williams is the author of over 20 books & 7 screenplays. He still resides in his hometown of Brooklyn, New York where he delicately balances his time between his responsibilities as a single father as well as the challenges of being a full-time author. “In interviews, one of the most difficult questions I’ve been asked is, ‘What genre are your novels?’ because honestly, I never write with any particular style in mind. I enjoy blending styles and mashing different genres together in interesting ways. Basically, I pen whatever is in my heart and soul. However, if I had to describe my style I would use musical terms and say that I write Urban, Hip-Hop, fiction with the rhythm of Reggae that crashed into Heavy Metal and then began to bleed Neo Soul. I write Alternative Urban Fiction.” One of the things I'm most proud of is how my children look at me with pride because I'm accomplishing my goals and doing the things I set out to do with my career. They recognize and respect my passion. I write constantly and I already have the titles & plots lined up for my next 92 novels. This is what I do and I'm just trying to let the rest of the world know this. My ambition is to become as legendary as some of the writers I admire. I believe that a GOOD writer pulls you into their story. A GREAT writer makes the world around you fall away as you read. The LEGENDARY writers tell stories that become a part of you and linger long after you've read the last line of the last chapter. It was once said that, the pen is mightier than the sword. I say to my fellow AUTHORS: Let's advance our craft until it's mightier than guns, grenades, bullets & nuclear bombs. If not, then put your pen down and fall back. Those of us who are serious about this will run you over as if we were riding in tanks.” – Keith Kareem Williams
When an author writes a novella, one would expect it to be pretty much short and sweet, however, when it's a novella by Keith Kareem Williams...expect more than what you bargained for.
In "Slow Kiss of the Apocalypse", Williams introduces us to a worried mother looking for her daughter after being gone for two days. When the mother is sent home to wait for better news, well, let's just say it gets very interesting...
Enter Club Xplosive, a nightclub where dreams can come true, especially if the correct players are sitting in V.I.P. For Cali (pronounced Kah-Lee) the pristine opportunity whirls about on a particular night, catching the eye of Chadwick Grossman, a man with means. It is then and only then that Cali will make her moves in ways unspeakable.
Keith Kareem Williams has found his literary voice. Parlaying in his own special concoction of writing, I dare not bottle him in one genre. For some reason, while I read this story in about two hours, the music of Raheem Devaughn kept offering itself as a background, page after page, after page. He didn't skimp on the details either. Logic, reasons and answers were well distributed throughout this novella in such a way, it felt like I was reading a full-length novel with ease. That to me, is impressive. Editing was sharp, the characters voices were crisp, clear and riveting as they stood alone or meshed against each other to take a stand. The book cover is on point, accurate and relevant for what unfolds.
If you have never experienced a story by this talented author, today is a perfect day to do so. Keith Kareem Williams is a stand out author with works to engage your mind and take you away on a journey unmatched.
Through written word, this author has the ability to make fictional characters appear so real and I found myself fascinated as he challenges each reader to see more than meets the eye. In this prequel, he did a great job captivating his readers while we anticipate what’s yet to come. These characters were developed in such a way that their names identified their personalities. As you meet each of them and their story is being told you feel like you are drawn into a mythical world and prepared to do battle. I would recommend this to any reader that doesn’t mind adventuring into a world of mythical characters.
A prequel to the author's upcoming Cursed Immortals gives us the deadly history of Cali aka DEATH and the other menacing characters that make up an alternate realm of interference in the lives of mortal man. The telling requires some patience before things become much more intriguing. We are left on a cliff of sorts wondering what havoc the immortals will unleash on each other as the story continues to unfold.
When I started this book I really didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised because this book is different from what I normally read. We are left with a cliffhanger wondering about DEATH and Seven. I'm anxious to see what they will get into next since they join forces. Reminds me of Crowe and Alicia from "Death in the City".
I don't know where to start. I have never read a book by Keith Kareem Williams and now I really don't know why I haven't. His story telling pulls you in and gives you a vividness to his characters. Cali was not what I expected. She was slick. I can't wait to read the next book. I am now a fan.
