Pleasantly Surprised

Wasn’t sure what to think when I first came across this book. But I’m glad I did pick it up and gave it a read. If you like the supernatural side of things this is definitely worth checking out. The only thing keeping me from giving this a solid five is there some need for improvement as far editing goes, not enough to ruin the story(which was great). Kudos to the author and hopefully we will get to see more of from them!

Inventively mixing mystery and intrigue, Scott’s debut installment in the Broken Revelations series takes readers to an intriguing world of angels, demons, fallen angels, and Pegan gods.

Adrian Gray is just an ordinary guy content living an average boring life. But an unexpected encounter with a mysterious woman turns his life upside down as Adrien learns he is one of the four Nephal, born wielding power of both heaven and hell and heralds and defenders of God’s kingdom against Pegan gods. With a renegade angel plotting to free the Pegan gods, Adrien must unite with the other Nephal and save the world from destruction.

Scott skillfully constructs Adrien’s awakening to long-dormant power and his coming to terms with his new identity, setting the stage for later books. The worldbuilding is fitting and the labyrinthine plot constructed with skill and precision.

The intriguing storyline and characters’ fun banter enchant. Adrien’s relationship with Matekai and Iku is well-realized, and themes of identity, lust for power, and revenge are woven smoothly into the exciting narrative.

This urban fantasy is a hoot.

I have read this book once before in 2017, and decided to pick it up once again.

This book has a very interesting story that shows the author's creativity. Many characters are introduced and well fleshed out; the different settings are vividly described and the story is unpredictable.

While the book could do with some editorial improvements, it is a nice start to what I am sure will be an interesting series!

Lately, I’ve had the luck of finding some excellent books about Fallen Angels, and Broken Revelations: Horsemen Rising reaches levels I didn’t expect. Albert Scott takes a young man, Adrian, who is like the rest of us, looking for love and a place where he belongs and shows us a world that is unexpected and dark, though beautiful at the same time.

The interaction of Adrian and his friends has a genuine feeling. Even when everything that he knows changes into a bizarre melding of heaven and hell, he keeps his sarcastic sense of humor. Having the location of the story somewhere that I’m familiar with is always a bonus when I read a book as I think Oh, I know that place.

Albert Scott’s visualizations are amazing, showing each character and location so that it’s vivid in my mind and not easy to shake. Congratulations on your first book, Mr. Scott, and I look forward to reading more from you!

Broken Revelations: Horsemen Rising, by Albert Scott, is the first book in a new fantasy adventure trilogy. We begin the book following the seemingly mundane life of a security analyst named Adrian Gray. However, we soon find out that Adrian Gray is far from ordinary or mundane. After meeting a mysterious woman that goes by the name of “The Tattoo lady,” Gray learns he is one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Together the two of them meet up with the other two horsemen before embarking on a quest to stop a renegade angel from destroying the earth.

Throughout the book, we’re introduced to a variety of interesting characters, including the other three horsemen, the Cambion, the Nephilim, and even a dispensary-owning Jesus. Each of these characters, along with the others introduced throughout this action-packed novel, plays an integral role in a much bigger war that has been raging since the beginning of time. Scott does a fantastic job at building the suspense for this upcoming battle. Each new character brings something new to the storyline and adds another layer to the growing plot.

This first installment of the series does an excellent job of worldbuilding for the following two books. However, the author left some gaps in information, leaving the reader with questions likely to be answered later in the series. This allows the suspense to build not just for this novel, but the whole series.

In some books that use religious elements, the build is awkward and feels forced; this one, however, felt natural and flowed seamlessly into the storyline. It reads like an action and adventure novel that just so happens to have angels and demons in it.

Broken Revelations: Horsemen Rising is the action-filled start to the Broken Revelations trilogy. With occult horror themes and fantasy elements, readers will be hooked on this intriguing series from the start and anxiously awaiting the next installment to see what happens to the four horsemen.

A wonderful story could be a good potential for a series, continuous events of complicated imagination beside a flow of Un expected actions, it may needs for a touch of editing but its perfect in total ❤
