Kidulthood

Rate this book
A day in the life of a group of 15-year-olds when they are let off school because a girl in their year has killed herself after relentless bullying. A cautionary tale of modern living, this story looks at the effects of bullying and the way in which a group of young people make some very difficult choices. Powerful, uncompromising and a novel of our times based on the hit film KIDULTHOOD.

A quick easy read. Very gritty with a touch too much violence for my liking. It so beyond my experience of being a child/kidult in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Would I read it again? No.

Will I watch the film it is based upon? No.

Would I recommend it? No.

Gritty. Savage. Interesting use of street language. Most people will watch the movie and skip this book.

It was OK, in the most part of the book. The beginning was shocking. But the end screwed it up, I expected more of it :/
