Water Witch Cozy Mystery #4

A Meeting Of Minds

Rate this book
There's a wedding to arrange, and Gladys Weaver won't allow a pesky murder to put a spanner in the works!

Gladys Weaver never thought she'd tie the knot again, especially to an acupuncturist of Chinese descent who'd once been magically trapped in the body of a goat - but now it's about to happen, nothing is going to stop her - not even a murder.

When her wedding venue of choice becomes a bothersome homicide investigation scene, Gladys is not about to let the police drag their flat feet. She needs the murder solved quickly, and if she's required to use magic to make that happen, then so be it. After all, she is the most powerful witch in her family, and it's about time she showed people why.

She's booked the band and picked an organist - although the grizzly murder made that choice a little simpler - and her fabulous son is raring to give her away. Nobody is going to stop her from getting to the chapel on time!

With an incredibly tall police sergeant on her side, and her magical family reluctant eager to help, Gladys is going to make sure that Wickford's wedding of the millennia goes ahead just as she's planned.

A Meeting Of Minds is the fourth book in the light-hearted and humorous Water Witch Cozy Mystery Series.

Not my favorite, told from the crazy Grandmother's POV.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Intriguing mystery

There was a good mystery at the heart of this but I have to say that I'm not all that thrilled to have Gladys at the center once again. She is not my favorite character. She is overbearing and completely oblivious to what is going on most of the time. Some may find her funny but I am bored with stories that show elders as stupid. Still, it was a good story so I'm not knocking down stars for my own hangups. I just hope one of the girls is the main character in the next book.

Disappointing book

I love Sam Short and have read all of her books lost more then once her water with novels are unique and normally a pleasant read.

However this one fell very short of the mark it was predictable not well written and nothing like what I would expect from her I probably won't read anymore of her water witch book's due to use awful this one was i only gave it 2* as the rest of the series is good

Not my idea of good.

I very much enjoyed the first two books but this one having the grandmother as the main character wasn't good. In fact I didn't read it cover to cover I read the first and skipped to the end for the last part.

Awww.. that I was sweet ending. I felt pretty sorry for Rupert and at times Gladys drives me bananas but it was a great book. I hope there's more!

Talk about me, me, me. That's all Granny is!

Sorry but Granny has really turned me off this series. A death is more important than her upmanship wedding. Where is the humour gone. Okay the basic plot was good with a twist that you could see coming. But Granny leaves a lot to be desired.
