Like A Samurai

Rate this book
Dead mom. Despondent dad. Starting high school. Life’s already a struggle to keep breathing and then Sam is raped. Many couldn’t bare that degree of heartbreak without falling off the deep end. Not Samara Weston. She may be small, weak, vulnerable, and heartbroken; but never again.
Four years and thousands of hours dedicated to martial arts training later, Sam is a force to be reckoned with. Her sarcastic, former British special forces, man-bunned trainer, Thomas Archer (A.K.A. Ponytail) recognizes her ability and offers her a position working undercover for his father’s private security company. Sam and three other defense-skilled girls are moved into an ostentatious Texas compound complete with underground tunnels, training facilities, golf courses, stables, swimming pools, and a very charming client. Untreated PTSD and a lack of experience make Sam unsure if she is capable of filling the job, but with a little help from Thomas, she moves into her position with more confidence…and a fair share of clumsiness.
Assassination attempts, panic attacks, re-learning how to live, finding friendship, discovering romance, deliciously awkward moments; this isn’t a sob story, it’s a strong story.
Sam’s journey is poignant, inspiring, romantic, adventurous, hilarious, and real. Well, as real as a girl from The Republic of Texas in 2045 can be.

Love this book!

This book fills you with all the emotions. A beautiful story about a girl who takes a tragic event in her life and uses it to live as a survivor rather than a victim. This book will make you cry, laugh, cringe, and sigh with the greatest of satisfaction. I highly recommend this read and am looking forward to the sequel!
