This is not the best book on light, but it is informative and correct in it's facts about the concept of light. The book discusses a range of information on light including the absence of light and seeing in color. At the back of the book, an activity is suggested to understanding that light is a mixture of all of the colors of the rainbow. By creating a color palette, sticking a pencil through the middle and then spinning it, the individual colors are not visible anymore. The palette turns white. Another activity that can be done almost anywhere is turning the lights off in a room, observing what colors are visible and then turning them on and observing again. This activity is an extension of the first pages of the book.
