About the author

John L. Harwood is a Professor of Lipid Biochemistry at the School of Biosciences, Cardiff University.

He wrote over 640 scientific publications including 5 books and 14 edited volumes. For a hobby, John goes rock climbing. He has made over 1200 first ascents spread over four continents, and he has written several guide books.
