I vacillated between two and a half and three stars and settled on the two because it was ok matched my feelings more than I liked it. The basic story -- a usual boy (Maxton Emerson) sees hard-headed girl (Westlynn Canyon) and falls for her then works to win her -- is good, but loses marks for poor editing (grammar, typos, continuity...) and disjointed storytelling.
Westlynn (Westy) Canyon is the CEO of the family business her retired father started. She is the oldest of six siblings, five girls, one boy. Each is involved in the family business in some way. Maxton Emerson is the CEO of his own company and is in competition with the part of Canyon Inc Westy's brother, Huxley, heads up. Maxton is from the UK, where his family still resides.
Westy pours most of her time and energy into running the company and keeping up with her family, leaving no time for relationships -- and she's not looking for one. The description says she is "a fierce no holds barred business woman." However, she does stupid stuff and allows herself to be "handled" making her seem not as "fierce." She and Maxton meet at the charity event of a mutual friend. He takes a liking to her; she finds him sexy and annoying. There are scene/descriptions of Maxton wooing of Westy and her rebuffs. Things take a turn when he rescues her from an attack that puts her in the hospital.
While I can't find fault with the basic story, it really wasn't compelling to me. I can't say I really liked the protagonists. It's not that I disliked them, they're just meh, okay. This is the first book to the Canyons of Charleston series. I'm assuming subsequent entries will feature each of Westy's siblings and, maybe, a couple of Maxton's family members. I'm willing to give the series a chance to win me over and will read (skim through) new additions to the series, especially since there is an unfinished plot point (which doesn't affect the ending).
Some of what you get:
* Why is everyone pushing Westy into a relationship when only one of her siblings is married and that marriage is on the rocks? Wouldn't you want everyone to be a bit more careful in choosing a relationship? No real relationships are mentioned for the others so why isn't there a push for all? (Okay, picky knowing that this is a romance and things like this just are.)
* Mistakes such as...
*** Westy complimenting her parents for sending her and her siblings all through Ivy League schools ("I mean they paid for all six of us to go to college, which wasn't cheap considering we all went to Ivy League schools."), then mentions some went to school in California, one to MIT, one to a school in South Carolina. Definitely not all "Ivy League."
*** As Maxton drives her home: "She is sitting in the driver’s seat with her head turned looking out the window, lost in her own thoughts." But, she's not the one driving...
*** Maxton is from the UK but invites his family to the US to celebrate Thanksgiving as if it's a big holiday there -- and, his mother takes the lead in making the turkey meal. ???
*** As mentioned, typos and grammar -- especially objective versus subjective pronouns. I hope this is much improved in the next one.
* Though this is a stand-alone, a mystery is started and not solved in this story. I'm assuming it will unfold as subsequent stories are told. Again, that it isn't solved doesn't affect the ending of this story. There isn't a "cliffhanger" ending, just a plot point left open ended. (And, as mentioned, it's one of the reasons I would continue reading/skimming the series. I'd like to know the who, what, why, where, when, and how.)

Love at first sight at it's finest!
My first M. Kristine book and I am definitely hooked!
Westlynn Canyon's only concern is her family and running the business that her father handed down to her. As the CEO, she has her hands full and did not expect to meet her match in the man with an accent, Maxton Emerson. Maxton tried every trick in the book to charm the woman he has claimed to no avail until a threat looming in the horizon nealy ended everything before it started. Will Westlynn realize that the person she has been trying to dismiss and avoid be the other half of her heart before it is too late.
An endearing, quick read that will make you fall in love with Maxton and his terms of endearments. There is a question that needed to be answered as to what happened but I think book 2 will have the answer to that

Enjoyable story
I really enjoyed this story, from how maxton and westy met, to the unknown assailant that gave them their chance to find love. I would love to give this a 5 star review but the reason I didn’t was because of missing words, a couple extra words that weren’t needed and occasionally it came across as a little repetitive. But I definitely recommend reading this book and giving it the chance I’d say it deserves!

I loved reading this story. It as sweet,sexy and so much more . But I need to know what happened to the Crazy A-hole. This book was a must read.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It is so well written and truly captures the attention of the readers. It's a no nonsense book, which I really like. Also, Maxton's British personality was to die for. I really liked Westlynn as well. she was a total badass and didn't take shit from anyone.

You Saved Me is the first book in the Canyons of Charleston series. I'm assuming each book in this series is going to be about each of the Canyon siblings, there's 6 total including Westlynn. This is my first book from this author, and while the story was okay for me, there were quite a few grammatical errors that interrupted the flow of this book. However, speaking of flow this one went from slow and dragging for their relationship to BAM I love you's within like 2 chapters! For the entire time that Westlynn and Maxton are together after her incident she's never sure how she feels about him, but all of a sudden over Thanksgiving she's realizing she loves him and doesn't know how to understand these feelings. Every time she questions her feelings I feel as if I'm reading about an emotionally stunted teenager rather than a 33 year old woman.
Westlynn Canyon is the CEO of Canyon Inc. and the youngest CEO at that. She took over for her father when she graduated college and has added different branches that would fit the interests for the rest of the Canyon siblings. Making it to the top and staying on top has put a damper on Westlynn's social life though and her mother is always so quick to point out how fast Westlynn's biological clock is ticking.

For weeks Maxton played games Westlynn's way, but that all stops when he finds her in her company garage beaten and unconscious. He's no longer willing to let her push him away and he'll do whatever it takes to keep this strong-willed woman safe.

Westlynn has been working hard to get where she is . She has no time to date until the sexy Brit walks into her life . The sexy tech giant has eyes for Westlynn and wants to be more then his biggest competitor . When tragedy happens and Maxton finds Westlynn lying on the floor in the parking garage . Things change and he will not let her push him away anymore . Will they finally give into their desires and realize that they love each other .
The main characters Westlynn and Maxton are an interesting pair . Westlynn is a feisty , no nonsense business woman. She has taken her family business and built it up . She does her best but doesn't have time to date. She is a good character , she sometimes comes off as very standoffish but you do get to see her relax more and open up . Maxton well he is Briitish and oh so sexy , he is a no holds barred fighter . He will fight for what he wants . He is a hard worker and knows what he wants when it comes to work and women . They are good characters but when they are together they bring out the best of each other .
This is a story that you can read in an afternoon . The author takes us on a ride that wil leave you breathless . Sweet book. Very little drama. Westlynn and Maxton are competitors in a fierce business world. She believes that she has to control everything and that she has no time for a relationship. Maxton is just waiting for the perfect woman to come into his life. He’s ready for the forever ending, and he will not settle for less than perfect. He attends a charity gala and in walks Westlynn with her siblings. As introductions are made everything in Maxton’s life shifts perfectly into place. He knows without a doubt that Westlynn and him are meant to be, she however doesn’t agree. She turns him down cold! After weeks of pursuing her and getting no where Maxton is more frustrated then ever. He waits to secretly meet up with her but when he sees her his heart is shattered. There’s his girl, laying on the ground unconscious and bloody from her attacker. He vows to protect her for the rest of their lives. He won’t let anything happen to her. After weeks in the hospital she’s finally released and is able to leave, to Maxton’s home. I hadn't noticed that this was a series when I started reading, but it definitely makes sense. These stories are about a family of businesspeople with 6 children, all of whom run or work for the family empire. This one focuses on the eldest daughter, Westlynn, and a handsome Brit transplant who takes an immediate liking to her when they meet at a fundraiser gala.
Likes: the descriptors of the environment (seriously, Maxton's house sounds like a DREAM), the basic premise of the family
Dislikes: For being a strong, independent woman, falling for him when he acts very Cavemanish doesn't seem in character.

I was hooked from the very beginning when Westlynn and Maxton first meet. One is looking for the perfect person to be with forever and the other thinks they are too busy for any relationship. But a chance meeting has Maxton seeing Westlynn as the one for him but she is not thinking the same way about him. Will he fight for her? Will she see him for the one for her? What will happen when someone comes to do harm? What will happen next to both of them? You'll have to read the book for yourself to get those answers. I can tell you though that you'll enjoy as much as I did

This is the 1st book in a series, and is Westlynn and Maxton’s story. Westlynn is the CEO of her family’s company, and Maxton is in town to open his dream business. This is a well written story which had me hooked and intrigued throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this author. I recommend for all readers.

Excellent read!
Westlynn kept her heart guarded and concentrated on succeeding in business. Max set his sights on her as soon as they met. He chanted his way into her life and proved that nothing was more important than she was. Westlynn realized what a great guy he was and allowed her heart to open up. Great story!

Canyons!
I really enjoyed Westlynn and Maxtons story. Short sweet somewhat suspenseful story. Westland is the head of her family's company and Maxton built his company from the ground up. They are on opposite sides. Do they have what it takes to be together? You will have to read to find out.

I enjoyed this story. Great start for a new series. Westlyn and Maxton both have made names for themselves in the business world. They are rivals really neither has time for a relationship but the universe has other plans. Hot and steamy read.

I really enjoyed Maxton and Westlynns story. I love the pull they had towards each other even if one was fighting it. There was plenty of drama in the story. I loved the HEA! I thought it was well written and had a great storyline!

Loved this book. The story kept me reading, kept the page turning. Loved how strong Westlynn is and how HOT Maxon is and how well they work together and how he fought for her. I love how they came together and I can't wait to read more

This is the first book in the series. Westlynn is the CEO of her family's company and Maxton is in direct competition with them. It's love at first sight for Maxton. There is a threat made against Westlynn, and she is found injured and Maxton becomes her protector. Their story is sweet and steamy! I am looking forward to reading the next one in the series!
