It seems that no matter how many time I read one of Lee’s books I come away saying the young adult genre is so underrated, and Lee shows us just how it should be done. In The Wayward Prince (Fractured Throne - Book Two) by Lee H. Haywood we are once again treated to epic fantasy at the highest level. He continues to improve on his writing style, and I am amazed that that is even a possibility after already putting him in the highest echelons in the YA/Fantasy genre category. But, he somehow outdoes himself with each new writing. This book almost reads itself - all I had to do was sit back and take it all in as the words started fighting and battling and coming alive on the pages. The journeys, the story and the characters all come to life and are like three dimensional characters dancing across the pages. You know you’ve enjoyed a book when all at once you realize you are at the end and you are still continuing the story in you imagination. I cannot wait for the next installment of the Fractured Throne Series. Very entertaining and highly recommend.

Received an ebook in exchange for a review. Posted to both GoodReads and Amazon.

Soooo, I make no bones about this author being a favorite of mine, and I have yet to be disappointed in any way with his books. Due to some ebook issues at my end, this review took me longer then normal. I did also purchase the book to add to my collection. Yay!

Once I finally got into it, I positively flew through it. It was non-stop adventure, and even switching back and forth between the main storylines was smooth and enjoyable. I'm pretty sure that my co-workers wondered what on earth was going on as I hollered at one scene towards the end, but "whew" it all worked. I cannot wait for the next book. I'm looking forward to how some of the twists and turns work out, and found the book to be oh so very enjoyable.

A thrilling sequel to Fractured Throne. It is a phenomenal adventure with the epicness of Michael J Sullivan, Nicholas Eames, and Peter Brett! His writing is so amazingly beautiful, it takes your breath away! The adventure continues with Emethius and Malrich, who are searching for a cure for the Blackheart disease that leads to madness. They venture across lands, pursued by the Cul (foul beasts who own the darkness). Not everything is as it seems. It's a non-stop roller coaster ride of awesomeness!

Haywood has become one of my favorite authors!!! Expect great things from him! He is totally crushing it!

What a wonderful follow up this is to Fractured Throne, book 1 in this series. All of the elements of book 1 are expounded upon and brought into greater light... Or... Darkness. Lee has a wonderful pacing to this story and it never seems to drag along, it only makes you wish to speed up the pace of your reading. This is top notch storytelling and it is such an easy but wonderful read. The characters are wonderfully developed and do not make any jarring or upsetting decisions throughout the story. They stay true to life and true to their characteristics. The further I got into this book, the more connected I felt with each and every character and the more that I actually put myself into the characters shoes as I walked along side them.

We pick up with Emethius and Malrich nearly right where we left them in book 1. They are continuing their journey into the land of the Cul, searching for a cure to the blackheart to cure Malrich's wife and Meriatis, the Prince of Meridia. Their journey is nothing but full of problems; fights, kings that are set in their old ways, the Cul who never seem to sleep and can always find them, and Gods that are trying their best to put them off the path. Emethius shows just how great of a friend he is to Malrich throughout and Malrich himself really shows his love for Emethius. As travel partners, these two could not be better equipped for each other.

With Princess Leta, we pick up with her still trying to figure out where all of the blackheart victims are coming from and if they even really have the blackheart. This character grows exponentially throughout the story. She goes from a timid vacian priestess to a princess who doesn't take no from her father who is unwilling to command in the correct way and she is not going to allow her kingdom to be overran by plotting figureheads. Leta's storyline might be my favorite from this book, only because of the backstabbing that she uncovers, the plotting of the overthrow of her family, and the power with which she operates.

If you want a book full of adventure, this is it. If you want a book with a strong woman, this is it. This book covers so much ground in less than 200 pages and every step is marvelous. This book goes up to the top of my list for books read so far this year. The author deserves all kinds of praise for it.

I received an ARC for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

I received an advance review copy from the author. I previously reviewed Book 1 of the Fractured Throne series. This book was shorter than the last, (took me less than a day to read). It was fast paced and continue the development of the characters and story. It was almost to fast as I think it missed opportunities to develop the "Gods" and some of the other forces impacting the Storyline. I do not know how many books are in this series and maybe the development will come later but hopefully not to late. This was a fun fast pace book and I look forward to the release of the next book(s) in the series
