Girls like me don’t deserve love. Because girls like me destroy anything good and pure. I’m a walking, talking bomb. I ruin everything and leave shrapnel in my wake. Everyone in my path steers clear. Everyone except for…him. He sees past my short fuse and directly into the wreckage left behind by my past. He’s one of the good ones. An angel on earth. He doesn’t know that I crush halos and sabotage happiness every chance I get. I’ll probably sabotage us too. It’s a tough lesson to learn… But I’m an excellent teacher.
Danielle James is a wife and mother of two, who has written and published over twenty romance novels. Danielle’s work spans from sweet and romantic to dark and taboo. She prides herself on writing bold romance for bold readers. Her books are sexually charged with alpha female characters that leap off the pages. Each book sucks you into an entirely different world with steamy scenes, drama, and amazing plot twists along the way. Her goal is to hook you and keep you addicted so you'll come back for more.
This was my first Danielle James book. Man, was I hooked. I love this author's writing style. I laughed out loud several times at some of her quotes. I love a feisty female character and that's what I got with Bellamy. And, the character development was beautiful. Cyrus was a good dude. And hot as all get out. I truly loved the chemistry between the two main characters. It was a poignant story and so real and relatable. Well done!!! Can't wait to read her next one.
4.5 1st read by this author. Storyline kept me reading as Bellamy's life seemed to go downhill dealing with Leonard. Her grandmother was also a disappointment as she blamed everyone for problems that Bellamy and her mother Crystal faced. Cyrus seemed like an honest guy despite the age difference. Content with realistic situations helped make this a good read.
Great name for this book because it truly was da bomb.
Haven’t found a book I could completely categorize as a favorite in so long, but this book was definitely it. I’ve never really liked self-destructive characters because they were always too whiny for me. And while Bellamys character had issues, her confidence and fire had me hook to the story, rooting for her to overcome her problems.
And Cyrus... ooh chile he has officially become one of my all time favorite character. The way he understood Bellamy’s problems and wouldn’t allow them to get in the way of their relationship was everything!
Bomb is a steamy, thoroughly gratifying, luscious read that smashes my anticipations.
This is a narrative about a saintly man who was put in a situation where he had to stop an volatile feline from blowing up.
Everything about this storyline was absorbing. The romance between Cyrus and Bellamy was steadfast and seeing it develop was a plus for me.
Cyrus and Bellamy has great chemistry, and they bloom a strong relationship. The sex scenes are hot and toe curling dramatic.
Also, the plot with a few twists was an innovation. Bellamy thought that she was forsaken by her mother, but didn’t know the truth until she seeks it out herself. Her grandmother hid behind religion to cover up for a man who was a devil in disguise.
I love the revelation of all secrets because it help both main characters see their growth. Together they formed a shielding love and it afforded them a sense of belonging. There were incidents of sexual violence that happen in a church. This is a substantial problem for many women and the author shows how strong Bellamy was in this story. Bellamy didn’t allow herself to be beaten down by that act of non consent, as she face her predator head-on.
The mistakes Bellamy made in this book are realistic and honest to her age, and the struggles she makes to correct them also make her human. At every bend, she acted realistically as someone who have a temper problem and couldn’t control it, until she meets someone who could stop a ticking bomb from detonating.
Ms. James writing is always on point, and her plot is always fascinating. She doesn’t sugar coat and bogs down her story with unnecessary description and exhibition.
Bomb is definitely a book to check out. It’s a well-written book and a if given a chance I believe many readers is going to enjoy it.
Hawt AF! That’s what this book was. Cyrus and Bellamy’s story dealt with some heavy issues but was freaking hilarious! Bellamy and Cyrus were just what I needed. They burned up the pages of my kindle, were easy to relate to, and extremely likable.
I have a confession to make. I have a huge crush on Bellamy, and being in her head was my happy place. She was hilariously viscous. She could cut glass with her tongue. She was soooo much fun! I adored her, and I was ecstatic when she started to adore herself.
Cyrus was a breath of fresh air. He was a controlled alpha that made my heart race. He was caring but gritty. He loved Bellamy in this brutally honest way, which left no room for questions. It was absolutely beautiful to witness.
Even though I lived for Bellamy and Cyrus, the supporting characters stole the show at times. Rev. Wilson and Joan were a horrible trip. While Pax had my face hurting from laughing so hard. I am dying to find out more about Crimson, Declan and Paxton.
Danielle James has a tremendous range when it comes to writing. She does romcom, erotica, taboo, dark, and anything else a reader might wish for. I am here for it all.
‘Bomb’ by Danielle James tackles the sensitive subjects of messed up childhoods and sexual abuse by enveloping them within the safe confines of a love story.
Prior to reading books by Danielle James, I was hesitant to pick up anything dealing with such touchy subjects. Danielle handles these and other subjects with grace and compassion. Her style of writing makes me feel safe enough to read about these emotional (and often disturbing) topics.
Don’t let my mushy talk above give you the wrong idea about ‘Bomb’. Compassionate and sensitive writing does not equal rainbows and unicorns when it comes to works by Danielle James. You will not find victims or weeping willows in ‘Bomb’. You will find fluid prose, fierce and passionate characters and explosive love scenes.
This was an interesting read. Bellamy had a rough childhood and was always on the defense. Her beautiful exterior was contradictory to the storm of anger and sadness running through her on the inside. She was everything men wanted or fantasized about, but it was always temporarily. No one truly wanted her. Cyrus was conflicting...he wanted to be a man of God, but he was still rough around the edges. He was being tempted daily and he wasn't handling the pressure well. Not to mention he was easy on the eyes, drop dead gorgeous so attention was easy to find even when it was unwanted. Bellamy and Cyrus together were like fireworks. They had a crazy connection, but also seemed to bring out the good in each other. I enjoyed their journey together...even though I felt Bellamy deserved more time to find herself as a woman. I will definitely read the next story.
Wow! Dropping bombs all over in this one. So enjoyed Bellamy. She was a riot! Never afraid to say exactly what was on her mind, no matter the location or who was present. She had to endure so much pain and trama, in her young life. The gruff exterior was her coping mechanism for survival. Cyrus, was a sweetheart. He knew upon meeting Bellamy, that she would be trouble. But, something about her, drew him to her without his permission. Together they were magic! How he was able to melt the ice around her heart, and how she was able to him to open his eyes about Kim. Loved Pax! He was a damn mess! 😃. The stuff going on in that church! Whew..... Another great one! 👍👍👍
Wow, this story had me hooked from the very start, it was so raw and real with wonderful storytelling that grips you page after page. Bellamy is fiery and doesn’t take crap from anyone. I loved her character, especially her insults. Cyrus is a good guy wanting to help everyone with a hidden savage side. They have an undeniable attraction. Together their chemistry is HOT! This is definitely a must read.
What a great story with sizzling chemistry, creating your own loving tribe when family fails you, forgiving yourself and learning how to heal one day at a time. Absolutely loved Cyrus and Bellamy. She came a LONG way and it was wonderful to see. Loved it!
This book gave me everything I needed. I promise this author delivers every time I read one of her books. All of the drama and trials life threw at Bellamy I could feel but the way Cyrus loved her through it was amazing. They were perfect for each other. This is definitely a must read.
Yes the heroine was a handful. She had tough examples to follow. Her mom was unavailable and her grandmother was a prized a$$wipe. The pastor, I can't even wrap my feelings around this one. Wow!
This book is just as the name implies a gosh dang bomb. I could not put this book down. I’m also a former church kids so this book definitely hit home. I am definitely making my book club read this with me it was gold
Good read this is my first read from author Danielle james and I enjoyed this tale. Watching Bellamy evolve into something more than what was dealt to her was relatable and the sparks with her and Cyrus was black love magic.
