An ADHD Day - With and Without Modifications and Accommodations

Rate this book
An ADHD Day - With and Without Modifications and Accommodations A "How to" for a Day of Positive Results This book chronicles a single day of challenges without modifications and accommodations in the life of Tim, a boy with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). The day begins with the challenges of early morning and continues through the day. It does not end with just "lights out", but follows through until Tim is finally asleep. For Tim, even this time between "lights out" and the "solace of sleep" can be torture. Part One is a day in Tim's life when the adults around him do not truly understand how modifications or accommodation techniques could help him. Your first reacton may be that Tim is just a brat and the adults are incompetent. A visceral reaction about Tim or the adults in his life will probably come over you as you experience Tim's day. A day in Tim's life can exhaust the reader. Part Two is the same day in Tim's life, but with adults who have a "How to Plan". Your instant pitch may be "too much effort", or "too much time". But within a very short period, you can establish a successful routine that works for Tim and you. A daily routine can be managed without the constant struggles of moment to moment confrontations with peers and adults. By using modifications and accommodations for just one day, that one day can be a more successful day for Tim and those around him.
