Colin is a personal friend, who I am so proud of!

I absolutely had to purchase this book, as his first book was amazing, I couldn’t wait to read this one.

The story keeps you guessing, entertained, and wanting to just keep reading. The characters, and their development, as well as the general plot, and overall story, are a great testament to the genre.

Well written, and enjoyable. I started reading and could not put it down, has the entire book finished in just under 2 hours.

Great read, highly recommend.

I have never read anything like this! (And I mean that in a good way.)

COTD was extremely thrilling. Just the right length to sit down and devour in one or two sittings if you're hooked -- which I was.

Douglas's narrative voice is refreshing and unique. The book has a multitude of characters, and they are all extremely well defined. Each has its own distinct voice. Douglas writes his female and male characters equally well and equally fleshed out, which I found impressive.

In the end, it's essentially a zombie novel, but it's got a fresh perspective and a new version of what so many believe is the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Douglas takes an overdone theme and makes it new again. His skill with words elevates the book to so much more than just a zombie book. For those of you who can't handle gore, there are certainly parts that made me gasp and even made me a bit queasy, but it's not too over-the-top.

I highly recommend! So glad I came across this book.

I just finished this instead of slept. I got pulled in. I didn't know something so outlandish could be transformed into something relatable. It was as exciting and enthralling as a good movie!

A friend recommended this book and I was not disappointed! Not my usual genre but was so glad I picked it up. It was so full of suspense I couldn't put it down!! This author gave me sleepless nights and I wouldn't be surprised if he became the next Steven King! I can't wait to see what he comes out with next!

If not human, then what?

Some glaring inconsistency. I liked the idea of the storyline, it could have been developed so much better though. We don't even know by the end what he is. If not human, then what?

I really found the characters intriguing. The story is engrossing and easy to read. I finished it in a few hours. There is a real variety of characters and I think there are lessons in life here.

I never go into too much detail in my reviews. You’ll either agree with me and like it, or you won’t. It’s a good first novel effort, and I believe horror fans will enjoy it as much as I did.
