Angelica’s identity is blasted to smithereens and without her knowledge, she’s a target in a dangerous game. It’s the middle of summer and the murder rate is heating up in northern New York. Leaders of the community can’t provide any answers, so they call in Angelica Mason and her sidekick known as JaRew. Angelica’s mission is to lead a new project aimed at studying violence in small towns. But when she and JaRew arrive, they’re expected to go undercover. The more they uncover, the deadlier the stakes become. Shots ring out and Angelica realizes someone wants her silenced, no matter the cost. Can she and JaRew figure out who’s behind it all before it’s too late? When her mission is under fire, will Angelica make it out alive?

Blue Lady’s Mission Under Fire is a slow-burn mystery/suspense from start to finish. With issues ripped from current headlines, I whipped through the pages. The plot moved at a good pace with a slow beginning that picked up speed the further you read. I connected with Angelica and JaRew. They’re interesting characters who are thrown in the midst of a cluster. Who is friend and who is enemy? It’s not clear. There’s a biographical vibe to the story which I enjoyed. Stephany Tullis is a brilliant writer who has a talent for building suspense. She also has a flair for creating characters you want to care about, root for, and ultimately grow to love. This is book three in the Blue Lady series but it can be read as a standalone. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more. Highly recommend!

Danger and intrigue!

Enjoyed this story immensely. It captured my interest from the beginning and held it through to the end. The action is nonstop, the characters diverse and easy to tell apart. The writing is flawless and loaded with sensory details. Angelica Mason keeps the reader on their toes with her funny quips and unique viewpoints.

I began reading book three in the series and didn't feel the least bit lost, although I enjoyed it so much I want to go back and read the first two.

I really enjoyed this book. It started out a bit slow and then the action picked up and you could feel the tension. What I enjoyed about it the most was the interplay of characters and dialogue. I love the way the author had the characters interact and the many interesting people that were present in this small town. Watching Angelica and her side kick trying to figure out the mystery was like watching a PBS detective show full of small town characters that all seem both innocent and guilty. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.

A bit confusing, but readable

The premise is good, though at times was hard to follow. Once it takes off though, hang on to your seats, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. I was glad it wasn’t super long because you had to work to keep things straight, but worth the effort.

The story starts out slow but does pick up and becomes suspenseful. I found it a bit confusing at times, not sure if reading the prior books in the series would have helped with that.
