Cody, Hawkeye and Caine are up against a thousand men as they rescue Rufe from an ex-Green Beret training terrorists in the Haitian highlands. And Cody knows they had better rescue Rufe soon, before he's tortured to death by a demented man who lives to kill.
The Army is in Haiti to stop a resurgence of the Tonton Macoute, the evil paramilitary force created by the former dictator of the country. This time around they are using voodoo and selling opium to finance their agenda. One of the members, Rufe Murphy, goes undercover to try and join. He is found out and taken prisoner and tortured. The Army also finds out that a ruthless former solider that they served with in Vietnam is training the rebel army. He also wants to kill Cody along the way.
This was chalked full of action. It also gets extra points for taking place in a location not usually associated with the 80's action books. The voodoo is a nice touch to mix things up a bit. To bad this series only has one more book in it. So far not a dud to be had.
