Introduction

NY Times & USA Today & Bestselling Authors present - Dangerous Heroes ... Rouges, Warriors, Princes & Pirates

You're about to enter a collection of over 1,756 pages of heart-pounding, passionate romance. Of course, what you'll really be doing is slipping away to another world. A long-ago time and place where you'll find bold, larger-than-life heroes who live to sweep their proud and fearless heroines into their arms and ride off with them across the high moors, or speed away with them over tossing, white-capped seas, or perhaps they'll toss them over their shoulders and race up a castle's winding turret stair.

Either way, the five authors who joined together to bring you this collection guarantee our heroes and heroines will treat you to everything you love in a historical romance.

The Duke's Lady by Brenda Jernigan

An American spy with a British birth, Adam Trent is consumed with gathering information to use against England's navy. Despite the intrigues of war, the mystery of the lovely young woman washed ashore near his Cornwall estate is one he cannot resist. With the ragged remains of a treasure map concealed in her chemise and no memory of who she is and how she got there, the dark beauty is a puzzle.

My Lady's Treasure by Catherine Kean

Lady Faye Rivellaux is desperate to save a kidnapped little girl. Former crusading knight Brant Meslarches seeks redemption from his past. Forming an uneasy alliance, they search for lost riches of the legendary Celtic King Arthur and find a treasure worth more than gold

Defiant by Kris Kennedy

Jamie Lost is the king's most feared lieutenant, sent to bring in a rebel troublemaker before enemy forces close in. Cold-hearted and ruthless, he's been on far more dangerous missions. He expects no trouble. But trouble is what he gets when he's thwarted by a dark-haired waif who has no intention of letting him succeed. Hiding a small blade and big secrets, she thwarts him at every turn. Soon they're locked in a mortal game of oneupmanship, the exiled waif and the merciless knight. Only one of them can win.

The Enchanted by Paula Quinn

Prince Gabriel of Rhyddon is the reluctant heir to the faerie kingdom of Eilithia but he wants nothing to do with his birthright. Enchanted by an evil temptress, he is imprisoned by indifference and oblivious to love and the beauty of living. But when he meets the mortal woman chosen to be his wife by his father and an ancient, talking tree, he discovers a power stronger than any faerie spell, and a truth that could destroy the faerie kingdom.

Only for a Knight by Sue-Ellen Welfonder

After years of warring, Sir Robert MacKenzie is returning home to the Highlands. He's put the past behind him, the scandal and tragedy that drove him away. Now he wants only peace. But when he reaches clan land, his plans are upended by a damsel in distress. Mariana Mackay is paying a debt for her dying mother when an accident lands her in Robert's arms. Passion ignites - but Robert must face the past and risk all before he can claim the love of a woman with dark secrets of her own.

Brenda Jernigan is a bestselling author. Her books have been nominated for
many awards - Book Seller’s Best Award, The Maggie Award, and The Holt
Medallion Award. Publisher’s Weekly said, “Brenda Jernigan writes Romance,
Adventure and Magic”

She grew up living the life of a tomboy – climbing trees, playing ball, and excluding starry-eyed romance from her daily repertoire. Brenda discovered the love of books while taking her son to Story Hour at the local library -- she was hooked. She set an ambitious goal and began work on her first novel. She continued to write six more novels in rapid succession. She figured having the same birthday as Ernest Hemingway couldn’t hurt.

Her books have been printed in several languages and her last book “Southern Seduction” written under the name of Alexandria Scott was printed in Russian.

I loved this compilation of romantic tales about our dangerous, alpha males falling for our damsels in distress that are never to be underestimated. This book is unique is that it contains multiple stories by several different authors. You truly get a taste of almost any genre within this one text. I liked all the stories included, but my favorite was The Duke's Lady. For some reason, I was drawn to Jewel from the start. She is tiny and appears to be fragile, but watch out! She's feisty and can hold her own. She gave her Duke a run for his money! I loved this text and would highly recommend it to anyone who likes period romance or fantastical romance.

Fantastic

It is to bad the highest rating is only 5 star....I would rate this book set at least 8-9 stars (10 would be perfect and if you rate perfect you have no where to rise up). Each story was beyond my imagination. I cannot rate one higher than any other, as they all had me reading into the night. The title of the set is exactly as the stories read. But those sassy, spirited lasses are A1. Just what is needed to tame those dangerous rogues.
