Susan and Hazel had looked after their father since their mother's death, but now Susan is to marry Colin, a farmer, and move to Australia. However, after Colin's Gran has a fall, the old lady begs him to take over her run-down farm in Scotland instead. Susan doesn't mind and works hard with Colin to build up the farm. Peter, one of the farm hands, falls in love with Susan, but she has eyes only for Colin. When Hazel visits Susan, she finds herself attracted to the handsome Peter, but he tells her of his love for her sister.
