better than i thought it'd be. but by focusing solely on "japanese" authors writing in/about manchuria, isn't he repeating the same fatal assumptions he criticizes in his book?

side note: no bibliography.
another side note: wonder if anyone has done an extensive study on the relationship between 芥川賞 and the colonial project. kawamura also suggests that 開拓文学 and 引揚げ文学 are two sides of the same coin - intriguing - wonder if anyone else has written about it.
