Books, Picnics And Murder

Rate this book
Valley Springs is gearing up for their annual Spring Picnic. It’s a time-honoured tradition, a day filled with sun, laughter, and games. What they’re not ready for is kidnapping, murder, and mob-like hysteria.

When the town’s richest family announces that their son and nanny have gone missing, there’s only one conclusion: kidnapping. Clary St. James once again finds herself in the middle of mayhem and is determined to find the boy, but her confidence is shaken by hostile townspeople. As she gets closer to the truth, everything is thrown on its head by a shocking discovery.

It was just supposed to be a town picnic. But with a negligent nanny, a distant father, a hapless stepmother, and an uncle with a motive, it turns into a deadly game of hide-and-seek.

Will Clary find the boy in time? Or will he become a tragic mystery?

Careless talk costs lives

Another great read for you to indulge in when you have a break. Nice plot, well constructed but leaving you with the everlasting question of - Who is the Secret Keeper? Why have they taken it on themselves to act as the conscience of this community.
When her cat races upstairs, in the middle of the night, she finds the coffee machine on and a note on the counter. How did someone get in? Why are they leaving notes? Now a picnic is just what they need to take their mind off things. However their is activity at the picnic site. A boy and his nanny are both missing. The uncle is frantic and wants them to send divers. Why is he expecting the boy to be dead? As they all investigate (however someone has sent a text as if from her to say she will beat the police in getting to the bottom of this) although with plenty of hostility towards her. They come across a poor, little rich boy who doesn't seem to have a loving or stable home. Will they find the nanny and the boy? Will they find out who and how someone got in? Will they find out who sent the text message?

Cute story but there was just something missing. It didn't keep me interested. A bit disappointed.

Fun mystery

This was a fast fun mystery that had everything. Twists and turns and a ending that had a perfect twist. And a heart warming coda. The best of the series...
