Fortier is the story of Alfred Zeidan, a vicious, deadly and renowned vampire that secluded himself away from everyone for hundreds of years, until a message reaches him from his father calling for his return.
Part of him knew that this was about the Bertrams, another family of vampires that are fierce rivals and sworn enemies of the Zeidans, in fact the sole reason why he shunned the world he grew up with was because of the fighting and long standing feud between the two families.
M.G. Darwish is an award winning author who writes dark, twisted and action-packed fiction. He tries his best not to base his characters on anyone he knows in real life to avoid that extra weird conversation about how they were brutalized and killed in the book. Oh and he's terrified of a penguin uprising more than ghosts and demons.
I wanted to read this to see what happened between Alfred and his father but was surprised that Petra was a part of the book as well. I would have liked to understand Petra’s relationship with Alfred, with her character being portrayed more but, all in all, all other characters were well expressed especially the father. A bit gruesome at times
Two powerful vampire families have been fighting for centuries which is why one vampire, Alfred Zeidan, has been hiding from the world. After his father announces that he is going to end the war once and for all he decides to come out of hiding. Upon his return he is approached by his enemy with an idea of how they could end this feud between their families. What is his offer? Will be accept the offer?
Fortier: Blood & Moon is a short read that carries a lot of punch and a fantastic introduction into a whole new world of vampires with a new twist on vampires. It has lots of action and an attention grabber. I really and truly loved all the characters and this new world of vampires. I can't wait to read more about this new world of vampires.
I highly recommend Fortier: Blood & Moon to all fans of vampires, Thriller and Suspense.
I am not someone who's into vampire stories at all, but still, I read this book in one go. It fascinates me how a short had so much action, back story and character. I usually give extra points to memorable characters and it's been weeks since I read this and I must admit that even the characters that made short appearance are memorable. I am planning to read the next book when I have more time in my hands. I cannot wait to read more of Alfred and his adventures. HEAR ME OUT: read this and you won't regret it.
M.G. Darwish sets up an intriguing war between the ancient vampire houses in Fortier: Blood & Moon! Alfred, a powerful and vicious vampire, has returned at his father’s behest, sparking an epic war. Darwish’s writing flows well and builds the dark world of the vampire houses in a way that’s exciting and gives them depth! If you love a little intrigue to your vampire books, check this one out!
I'm not much of reader when it comes to vampire stories, but this one finds its way among my exceptions, as I do enjoy the a more really well-written, old-school style vampire story with all its dark themes and characters.
I'll definitely have to look more into the following stories in the Fortier series.
I sure hope the sequel is better than this one was. To me, the storyline was confusing until almost the end. I intend to read the next in this series but I just hope it gets better.
I really enjoyed this book! The storyline was well developed, the characters were complex and well developed and the story world was detailed. The writing drew me in and I felt immersed in the story! I am looking forward to more books by this author and would recommend this book!
A strange and twisted tale of the feud between the two most powerful vampire families. It does show that feuds never come to a good end. Otherwise ....
A really well-written, old-school style, vampire story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this, just one thing of note - a little too much rolling of eyes! "I rolled my eyes very slowly towards him"....."He rolled his eyes towards his wife"....."her beautiful eyes rolled towards me"......and that's just 3 examples, in what is a very short book. I was starting to envision eyeballs rolling around on the floor....!
Other than that, a really good read, and I look forward to reading more
