While the main body of print is of normal size and and can be changed by the reader, the examples and even the exercises, which are the main reason for buying the book. are in tiny, tiny print, the size of which can't be increased. This makes the book almost worthless, if you want to practice-- which is why people buy it in the first place. Secondly, there is no answer key to correct any errors. A self-help book, which the introduction says this is, should contain this aid to learning. I was very disappointed.
For me, the most difficult words in a language are the prepositions. Although there are general principles, logic fails in many everyday cases. For example, why should "I'll be there in a week" and "I'll be there inside a week" have different meanings?
I found Gobetti's explanations and examples clear and helpful and think I've now got a basic grasp of how to use Italian prepositions.
You will need a pencil and an eraser to use this book.
