Tres Fabulae Horrificae brings three stories to the table, translating them into latin. The first story is "Necare Mortem", to kill death. This story is a tale of 3 adventurers set in the time of the black plague. They decide to band together to take down a personified version of death, and things don't go quite as planned. The next story is a classic horror, "Manus Simii", the monkey's paw. In this book a magic monkeys paw teaches a man and his wife to be careful what they wish for. The last story, "Tunica Rubra" is about a man in a red shirt with a special ring. Do you believe in ghosts? All of the stories are fun and entertaining, my personal favorites were Manus Simii and Necare Mortem. All the stories are translated well, and the latin makes it possible to enjoy the plot.

The latin in this story is nice and simple. As a latin III student i was able to read this comfortabley, only having to check the translations of words a few times. Many words are repeated throughout the story, getting you familiar with them. Key difficult words have translations at the bottom of each page, and even when you don't know all the words, the comics make it possible to follow the plot.

This book was compelling I liked the charachters and enjoyed the latin take on all 3 stories from popular fiction

The grammar was relatively easy due to the fact that there was mostly dialogue so more advanced latin concepts such as supines couldn't be present. This book also has relatively little text as it is a graphic novel and also has a lot of pictures which allow for a much better understanding of the story and better latin fluency

These were fantastic stories. The art is great, grammer fun and slightly challenging-perfect for intermediate students. I can't wait to share this with my students.

Very well written. It was so much fun to read this with my class. We all had some laughs and looked forward to reading each page. Our favorite story is Killing Death. We found joy that there are stories like this in Latin for us. It is always fun to be able to read a good Latin story together.

Well done set of stories and comics, adapted from Chaucer, W.W. Jacobs, and a folktale. The stories have numbers of unique Latin words, and each story is introduced with notes compiled by the teacher, the author of this book.
