Melodic Sequences I: The Major Scale

Volume 1 of the “Melodic Sequences” series features over 100 melodic sequences using the C Major scale and is written in standard musical notation with treble and bass clefs. The sequences are grouped by the melodic intervals used in their construction and these intervals appear before each sequence. The solfège syllable and scale degree number corresponding to each note are indicated as well. Sequences with chromatic approach notes to chord-tones of diatonic chords are also presented. The book concludes with a section on chromatic enclosures. Although all melodic sequences are not covered here, the focus rests on the two-, three- and four-note groupings that fit nicely with the diatonic chords in the scale.
