Waking up hungover next to your former enemy? Nothing to feel shameful about. Add a huge rock to the equation? Alright... I'm going need something stronger than tequila. I'm just your average girl. Stumbling my way in the world. My life was simple, waitress by day. Activist by night... That is till the stuck-up suit walked into my life. Arrogant in his demeanor, cold, and unfeeling. Exactly how I thought a billionaire would be. It should have been so easy to hate him. But my every desire to punch him came with a greater desire to kiss him. Losing my v-card to that jerk shouldn't have been so complicated. But little did I know my life was going to be far from simple. Roses are red, violets are blue. This Valentine's Day there's a tiny bundle just for you.
Didn’t make past 10%. Heroine is so damn imbecile. You know the ones are always a klutz in front of hero. The ones are always complaining about work and always being late. Well if that’s what you’re looking for then look no further.
This was a fun book to read. The description of this book was a little off from the actual storyline though. I couldn't wait to read this once I read the blurb and while I'm glad I did finish this, I couldn't help but be disappointed with the fact that I was expecting something different. Like I said though it was a good read and I loved Logan so all in all I was happy with the outcome for the most part.
Whitley works as a waitress in order to pay for law school. Logan is a billionaire, and these two do not get off on the best of starts. Will their relationship move from a love / hate relationship? This is a well written story which has me intrigued and hooked throughout, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I recommend for all. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy from the author.
This was an incredible book by the creation of R.S. Lively,,,,,
Whitley Pope is a 22 year old waitress at a place called Tops' Diner,,,, a guy named Jefferson Tompkins has owned it for many years and he's always been like a grandfather to Whit,,, he has always called Whitley "Red" not because of her red hair, but because of how red her face gets,,,, Whitley has a best friend, Charlise "Charlie" Williams who is also her roommate ,,,, they live in San Francisco and Whitley has recently been told by Tops that he has cancer and he is in process of finding someone to buy the diner so he has money and time for his procedures,,,,, Whitley has 2 older brothers, Anthony and Kyle, she is the youngest and her brother's are very protective of her and they will really flip their lids if they knew how she was planning on giving someone older, rich and a friend of Anthony's, her virginity,,,,,
Logan Stone is a 29 year old very rich CEO of Stone Enterprises,,,, his mother is a big drinker now that his father has been dead from a car accident,,,, he has a sister named Kate and she has had a history of drug abuse and criminal complaints ,,,, he is a man who can have any female he wants and just recently he was in Tops' Diner with a business partner going in to negotiate the terms of Tops' deal when he comes across the most brash red head waitress that he simply cannot take his eyes off and he cannot stop thinking about how she would feel in his arns,,, he has to have this woman, but how do you ask out a woman whose skin seems to crawl at the mention of his name,,,, but he has no problem, he will find a way to get the girl,,,,
This was a very good book that I simply didn't want it to end,,,, the 2 characters have very different thoughts of each other, as Logan really wants to go out with Whitley, and Whitley cannot stand the man that she sees as taking the diner away from Tops,,,, but once these 2 get on the same page, their chemistry is off the charts,,,, action, adventure and lots of steam, and a few surprises along the way,,,, I would so totally recommend this book to everyone,,,,, I got this ARC voluntarily to leave an honest review,,,,,
I love it!!! This is a rip-roaring hilarious romance. Whitley otherwise known as Red or Cherry, is twenty-two, in college and working as a waitress. Tops diner is owned by Jefferson Tompkins. He is family to Whitley. They love each other dearly. Whitley has a big heart. She is thoughtful of others and kind. However, she has a fiery temper and gets angry before she thinks things through. In retrospect, if she is wrong, she will admit it. Tops has cancer and Whitley is devastated. Tops has to sell the diner in order to pay his medical expenses. In comes Logan Stone. When Whitley learns that Logan is to buy the diner, she reacts vehemently against him. Since he has his back turned to her, she cannot see his face. He treats her with indifference and that gets Whitley riled up even more. That is the beginning of Logan and Whitley's relationship. It's hysterical the back and forth of the thoughts running through Whitley's head. Logan on the other hand is emotionally closed off. After his father died, his mother became a drunk and throws insults and puts Logan down every time she sees him. His sister turned to drugs. He does his best to run his father's company successfully and does what he can for his mother and sister. Sometimes it is too much for him. When he meets Whitley, she bashes against his defenses without even realizing that she is doing it. Too much fun reading this. It is so entertaining. I totally recommend it.
I would say this is R.S. Lively's best book yet. This one has it all, beside being well written the banter between Whitley AKA Cherry and Logan is tremendously entertaining. So many adjectives to describe this read; romantic, wistful, lust-filled, steamy, sexy, banter-filled, witty, humorous but they also have twists n turns to work their way after all what do you expect with Vegas thrown in too. There is so much packed it to these pages you wont know what to expect next but that old saying 'opposites attract' will certainly come to mind. Just plain old hot is the best way to describe Logan Stone. Too bad Logan's personality is about as hard & cold as they come. He closed off his heart to try & avoid the same pain he felt after losing his dad, but can Cherry turn his hard, cold heart to warm especially after figuring out his heart isn't his only appendage that's hard as Stone all the time for her. Definitely Recommend One-Clicking their amazing journey to a HEA! I am voluntarily leaving my voluntary opinion with this review.
A hangover is the least of their worries. In the light of day, reality has set in... and let's just say that it's not pretty. R.S. Lively is an Author that was actually recommend to me by my best friend and I could kick myself for not discovering R.S. sooner. I have been reading daily for years and Ms. Lively is right up on the top of my must read list because of her incredibly written storylines and realistic characters. The Hangover is no different than the extremely talented way she can spin a tale and draw you right in. Logan or Whitley have incredible chemistry as well as loathing for each other (or do they)? You know how they say that there is a thin line between love and hate? You've got to read this release. Absolutely Riveting.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of The Hangover in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I strongly encourage all romance reader's to follow along as these two take one hell of a journey together. You'll be awaiting the next release just like I am... Impatiently.
Whitley is against anyone cutting down trees and doing damage to the environment. She is very passionate about her cause. So when she learns that the diner she has been working at is about to be sold to one of the big shots that she is against she goes full force against them. Logan is trying to be better in his business than his father. When Tops the owner of the diner explains to him more about Whitley he wants to know more and send more time with her. Logan discovers Whitley in a compromising position on one of his works sites and using it to get her to go out with him. Its not long before she sees that Logan isn't the man she thought he was. Can he show her that he is the man for her?
This is a great story that will have you laughing out loud at parts of it. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this highly entertaining yet emotional romance. The characters are well-developed with realistic emotional flaws; they have the tendency to jump to the wrong conclusions at times. The plot is well-written & interesting with some unexpected occurrences. There is: an apparently emotionless billionaire (Logan), a feisty female waitress trying to complete her college education (Whitley), a dysfunctional family, drama, humor, some twists & turns, attitude issues, misunderstandings, attempted sabotage, confrontations, blackmail, vulnerability, attractions, determination, exasperation, verbal banter, memories, regrets, confusion, shock, dismay, disagreements, apologies, love, happiness & some steam. I would recommend this romance to people who enjoy reading this genre. I doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.
I absolutely loved Whitley and Logan. They are just one of those couples that grab you and don't let go. I love Whitley and how headstrong she is and that she doesn't take nothing off no one. She's a spitfire to say the least. She has the biggest heart. Logan, well he's a billionaire who's had his heart harden by things from his past. He has his reasons for being the way he is, but when him and Whitley cross paths will she break through to his soft side. Let me just say Logan is a keeper in my book! He will win your heart over. The secondary characters were amazing and they made the book complete. I would love to hear what happens in their lives as well. Hint Hint! I loved this book!!! It's well worth your time and I give it 5 stars. I received and ARC copy from the author and I'm voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Such an amazing book. I fell in love with Whitley. She is her own person, she has very strong beliefs and she stands by them. Her family loves her very much but she is treated like a small child. She is determined and such a great person who loves hard. Whitley works in a diner and the owner, Tops, who she loves like a grandfather is the owner and cook. Logan Stone, very rich, very handson, and the bane of Whitley's existence, until he isn't. Whitley makes Logan feel things he has never felt, she melts the cold within him, and her sassy mouth just adds to the lure. This is the story of love and faith and making it work throu all their differences. It is well written, and you get to feel how each character has affected both Whitley and Logan. A great HEA the makes you want to cry with happiness.
This book could’ve been so much better. It’s extremely disappointing. In spite of it being a “Married in Vegas but can’t remember it” story, I really expected it to be better. However, the main female character, Whitley, cries ALL the time. Not a chapter goes by that she isn’t crying over something. Her eyes tear up, her lip tremble? She’s supposed to be 22! She is exceptionally immature and not likable at all. And Logan?! Why was he so mean to her at the diner that first time? It makes no sense. He’s supposed to be good friends with Anthony but doesn’t know he has a little sister? Not likely. There were too many holes in this story and the characters weren’t developed at all. Absolute waste of time. I gave it 2 stars instead of just 1 because at least there’s a HEA.
The Hangover by R.S. Lively What a character Whitley is. I just love her, she wants to save all the trees. Logan is a billionaire who has a mother that drinks too much and a sister who likes drugs too much. He has tried to help them but they don't want help. He has turned into himself and shut out everyone. They are so different but are attracted to each other but neither will admit. I fell in love with this story, it made me laugh and cry. This is one of those books you enjoy reading again and again. I would have to put this book in my top ten. I received an advanced reader copy and have voluntarily chosen to leave a review. This is my honest opinion.
This was a completely beautiful love story that teaches us that we should always take a moment and listen to our heart because our mind always tends to overreact and gets us into trouble.
Logan and Whitley(love that name) seem like the complete opposite of people to get into a relationship ship, but they teach us that true love is always about compromise. Two opposites do attract.
Until Next Time.... Tabi
(Really didnt get the title of the book though, cause you dont get it until the end)
This was a really enjoyable enemies to lovers book. Whitley was a college student, waitress in a diner owned by her quasi grandpa Tops and an ardent environmental activist. She was also over emotional, impulsive and charmingly sweet. Logan was a billionaire real estate developer trying to run the company his father started while also looking after his alcoholic mother and druggie sister. They have some hilarious clashes before they get together. Their relationship has many ups and downs but they do get their HEA in the end.
It was all I could do even read this all. The heroine is immature and annoying. She's supposed to be a big tree hugger but it doesn't take much for her to just stop really caring because her family & friends say she needs to stop. Throwing fit after fit when things don't go her way. She is a 22 year old virgin and Logan is her enemy but she wastes no time giving up the goods right away. Don't get me started on the editing. Horrible. I think it had a good storyline but it just didn't deliver for me.
The heroine is very immature, weak and weepy. I had to basically look at it as a story between high school kids with juvenile dialog, unnecessary weeping and "spitting: in the form of actual spit, drool, backwash, and food spraying" described. The hero in the book could do so much better. The oldest brother was so overprotective that it bordered on being creepy. It was a slow read for the first 15 or so chapters. Overall, the book felt like a waste of my time but since I don't like leaving books unfinished, I pushed myself to complete the reading of this tragedy of a book.
R.S. Lively weaves Whitley and Logan's story with humor and love that makes you anxious to turn the page. The characters that surround Whitley and Logan are relatable and pull you into the story to the point that you feel like you're part of their world. It's not often that I find a book that does that too me these days.....this book took me back to when I was a young reader and disappearing between the pages of a love story was easy. I'm a fan R.S. Lively. Thank you for sharing your gift.
A FunTastic HANGOVER! A fun incredibly entertaining read that will knock your pants off from the exciting drama and panty-sliding chemistry that will leave you warm and flustered with an intense need to light up the pages in search for some more. A great flow of engrossing twists that bring out all the emotions you thrive for as they captivate every bit of your attention making it impossible to put down! A fantastic must read that gives you all the excitement without the dreaded hangover!
A fantastic well written love hate romance. The characters are believable, realistic, well developed, and have great sizzling off the charts chemistry and personalities that transformed and blended. This amazing storyline is smooth and easy flowing with everything you need from misunderstandings, verbal banter, blackmail, unpredictable surprises, sabatoge, love, romance, steam, and twists and turns keeping me turning the pages. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
A great enemies to lovers romance. With all sorts of all stuff rolled in to. He’s rich and handsome, she is a struggling college student who has a family who don’t support her dreams of being an environmentalist and lawyer. A brother who scares all the boys away. This will have you giggling and sometimes wiping a tear. A really enjoyable book. I received this as an arc and I am giving my honest review voluntarily
I gotta be honest, I tried starting this book about 6 different times. Didn't make it past page 25 before I gave up. The main character (who is an adult I might add) crying because she finds out her brother is friends with a man she doesn't like..."how could you do this to me?" I can't get past the selfish immaturity of that entire paragraph. If you want an adult read this is not the book for you.
If you are a twenty year old tree hugger, this may be right up your alley. If you are looking for a great romance, this still might be the story for you. For me, being neither a twenty year old, nor a tree hugger, it was not a perfect fit. If there is a romance buried beneath all the surface goofiness, well, it just didn’t get there quickly enough for me. I gave up, and deleted it from my kindle, largely unfinished.
Love how he was with her. She seemed somewhat immature in the beginning which somewhat annoyed but it was okay because you rarely get to read a book where someone is upfront to the main female, especially the main male of the story. Tops really made it for me too, he was funny and just made reading the book much more enjoyable. However the guys family still seemed to be an incomplete set, so was the girl’s. Overall, it was a good book.
I really wanted to be blown away by this book but it just hadn't gripped me in the way a romance novel does. Don't get me wrong, Logan and Whit have a definite spark but despite some well detailed scenes it still feels a bit lacking for me. I'm not one to give low ratings but there has been significant grammatical errors and the characters seem to move from hot to cold with little in between.
Whitley was a waitress trying to pay for law school. When she met Logan, she immediately thought he was a jerk. A billionaire yes, but no less a jerk. This love/hate relationship is fun to watch. The dynamics are explosive and the characters are relatable. This was a fun read. I received the arc from the author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was an entertaining and quick read for me. A sweet story about a passionate woman who wears her heart on her sleeve and a man who ignores emotion. These two go through a lot during the book and work through several personal developments that make them stronger individually and as a couple. Oh, and can’t forget to note that the romance is super steamy! Great read!
Battle between trees and development, best friends sister, and the fighting between the two ofthem. All of this combines into a fantastic book.about love , lust and tons of heat. I loved everything about the two of them, the it chemistry, heat and the love that develops. Great read!
Whitley is stubborned but kind hearted and prone to advocating specially against tree cutting. When Logan comes into her life, she hates him and what he stands for. Funny, sweet, and lovely romance with a bit of tears, this story kept me reading through the night. I enjoyed the secondary characters as well.
