I don't know that an author has affected my life more than Susan Peterson. I know that's a bold statement, but here's why. She came to our MOPS group to speak shortly after her book came out in 2001. My #1 takeaway from her talk was that she recommended that when visiting sights whether local or on vacation, she would buy patches for her kids and then sew them onto a blanket - not a jacket or backpack. I have been buying patches for all 5 of us in our family for over 20 years and adding them to our blankets. My kids and husband LOVE and treasure them. Right now I'm finally sewing the patches onto my blanket and appreciate the memories that each of the patches recall.

Amazing comprehensive book with places I had never heard of and thoroughly enjoyed. Wonderful cross referencing by genre, month, or city. A must for all parents!

I absolutely love these books for those weekend days when the kids are stuck in the house!
If I ever feel like, "What should we do?" I crank open this book and flip through pages.

There are ideas of places to take kids for days when you have money to burn, days when you are broke and they are organized by type of fun.
