Joyce Walker came to West Wickham in 1959 and since that time she has been involved in the community in various ways. Her interest in local history led to the publication in 1986 of 'West Wickham-Past into Present' (co-written with Patricia Knowlden), and in succeeding years - 'West Wickham and the Great War', 'West Wickham in the Second World War', 'Vanished West Wickham', and 'A West Wickham Diary'. Joyce Walker hopes that her efforts will encourage others to develop their interest in local history.
