Coffee and Chocolate is a love story set during Central America’s bloody civil war in the 1980s. The persecution of Indians and clergy, secret involvement of the American CIA and plunder of Native lands are factual; the characters are fictional. Aromas of coffee Arabica and bitter/sweet chocolate, like the memory of love, permeate the story. Ghosts add spice. Today in Antigua, Guatemala volcanoes, Agua and Fuego, stand splendid in a distance. They speak of love and war.
