The Missing Ones: The hole they dug was not deep. A white flour bag encased the little body. Three small faces watched from the window, eyes black with terror. The child in the middle spoke without turning his head. ‘I wonder which one of us will be next?’
When a woman’s body is discovered in a cathedral and hours later a young man is found hanging from a tree outside his home, Detective Lottie Parker is called in to lead the investigation.
The trail leads Lottie to St Angela’s, a former children’s home, with a dark connection to her own family history. Suddenly the case just got personal.
As Lottie begins to link the current victims to unsolved murders decades old, two teenage boys go missing. She must close in on the killer before they strike again, but in doing so is she putting her own children in terrifying danger?
Lottie is about to come face to face with a twisted soul who has a very warped idea of justice.
The Stolen Girls: The young woman standing on Lottie’s step was a stranger. She was clutching the hand of a young boy. ‘Help me,’ she said to Lottie. ‘Please help me.’
One Monday morning, the body of a young pregnant woman is found. The same day, a mother and her son visit the house of Detective Lottie Parker, begging for help to find a lost friend. Could this be the same girl?
When two more girls are found dead, Lottie is forced to put the demons of her own past aside to catch a very clever killer before they claim another victim …
The Lost Child: ‘Let me out! Please…’ My tiny fists pound the door, but my voice reverberates off the stone walls and hangs in the air as if suspended by spider’s webs. No one comes...
Years later, a woman is found face-down in a pool of blood. Detective Lottie Parker is called to the remote farmhouse in the bleak Irish countryside. A black rain jacket makes Lottie think she knows the killer’s identity, but then she finds a disturbing clue: is the murder linked to an old case at St Declan’s asylum? A case investigated by her own father, just before he took his life.
When another victim is left for dead, and a young girl goes missing, Lottie knows she has to act fast. Can she uncover the truth before another life is taken?

‘OMG it is a cracking book!! … Patricia Gibney is my favourite author at the moment and my best find of the year – this book was fantastic, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.’ Donna's Book Blog, 5 stars
My name is Patricia Gibney and I’m from Mullingar, County Westmeath. Right in the heart of Ireland. Surrounded by lakes, Mullingar is damp and wet most of the year but when the sun shines it is a little piece of heaven on earth. I’ve lived here all my life. I’m widowed, seven years in May, but was married to Aidan since 1982. I’ve three children who keep me sane, or maybe keep the madness at bay, just a little bit! I say that because I am an artist and a writer. I started writing, for therapy, when Aidan died.
I secured an agent in January 2016 and she is fighting my corner in an effort to get my debut novel published.
Three years ago, I decided to get serious about it. I joined The Irish Writers Centre. Started doing courses. I love reading crime thrillers so it was obvious to me to start writing in the crime genre. And let me tell you, it is not easy. A crime novel needs to be tightly plotted and plotting is the bane of my life. I prefer to write straight off the top of my head. Oh, Oh. Feels good when writing but then comes the editing. I lost 20,000 words in the process. But at least I am proud to say I got it done.
I am now writing the second novel in the series, featuring Lottie Parker and a host of credible characters. They are all part of my extended family, you know the kind – people you love one minute and want to kill the next!
So join me on this journey and lets see where it leads us.
These deserve a mention. I brought one book, read this within a day or so. Two weeks later I am up to book 4.
Enthralling, page turning, and I feel quite well written. I was looking for something easy to read as I haven't been reading much of late as I've been too busy, and my soul was dying 😉
Well worth reading each one now, and you'll not likely be disappointed. I'm not going to write what it's about as the blurb does that, but definitely worth the spend on these books.
1st 3 stories of Inspector Detective Lottie Parker and her team. The 1st about children who were dropped off at a home ran by priest and nuns. Murders to cover the past. 2nd story, female trafficking. Alone with stolen kidneys. Also, living with painful past of war., and 3rd story. Lottie is searching for the truth about her father. But ends up having to solve murder involving drugs. She learns more about secrets. Lottie family is involved in each story. Looking forward to the next 3 series!
These first three instalments of the Detective Lottie Parker series were an enjoyable read for a crime buff. While the crimes investigated are multi-layered and the twists surprising, for me the main characters just don’t evoke as much empathy or draw me into their world as much as in other police procedurals I’ve read. I will, however, read all the books because I’m hooked on the crimes.
Lottie Parker is a detective who plays by her own rules. Lottie is a real human being who has the problems of a real human being. Gibney has created a great character and a host of great supporting characters, weaving a mysterious story that keeps me turning the pages. Well done, Patricia Gibney! Thank you!
I struggled to finish this 3 book box set. The main character is so unlikable and chaotic that it is difficult to have any empathy for her. The back storyline is becoming ever more bizarre.
Really enjoying Patricia Gibneys books. Yes, it’s a little unlikely so many crimes would take place in one small town and Lottie as a character can be very frustrating! But the plots are good and it’s hard to put the books down once started.
