Talking to the dead isn’t as cool as it sounds…

Constantly plagued by headaches and always at the mercy to spirits from the other side has Ridley Caraway viewing her witchy gift as a curse. However, when she learns of an unfamiliar magic that might offer a sense of control she seeks it out. What she finds is exactly what she’s always wanted, but when visions of people being pulled into a strange amulet strike, she questions her resolve.

Especially when one happens to be an innocent-looking little girl.

Unable to turn her back on the little girl, Ridley taps into the other side for answers. What she learns is more than even a girl who can walk between both worlds can handle—if she wants to help anyone, Ridley will have to go against the biggest evil she’s ever encountered.

4 stars to Jennifer Snyder's Gray Magic.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review . This is the first book I have read from this author and I enjoyed it . Ridley is a witch who is also the anchor to the other side. This does not seem like much of a gift to her since she is always having horrible headaches . Benji is her boyfriend who just happens to be a new vampire . He wants to help Ridley in anyway he can . Ridley discovers Gray Magic which could be the answer she is looking for but it might come with consequences she ins't ready to face. Maybe she should just face whatever is wanting thru , maybe this is what she was born to do . I do not wanna give to much away but she is about to face something she may not be prepared for . Can Mina her werewolf bestfriend , Benji, her vampire boyfriend , Ivette another vampire help her face an ultimate evil.
Okay so I thought this book was written well , and a great story line. The story has great characters and potential to be a major hit . My only issue with this story was the beginning . I felt like I was coming into the middle of a story . I had no idea what was going on for a little while. I am not a fan of this, however the author did fill us in on all the need to know . Also I love a good cliffy and this book gives good cliffhanger.

So excited she wrote these off of mirror lake books cause i didn't want to see them go. I loved them all, and I love Ridley and Benji. And now get to see their side of things with scary things that go bump in the night

I love books that follow other characters from the original series, and it's great when the original characters pop up in the new books. It's great getting to learn more about Ridley and her family

Gray Magic by Jennifer Snyder a five-star read that will leave no gray areas. This is the first novel in the Mirror Lake Witches series, Ridley Caraway was a great character, we have met her in the Mirror Lake Wolves series but this series we get to see the real her, who she is and what gives her the headaches and the background to the attic room. This story tells us so much, but also keeps some stories hidden behind the curtain, you get the peek but have to wait for the next story to tell us more. I think that’s why I like Jennifer Snyder’s writing so much, its not all laid on a plate you have to read between the lines, and it keeps you hooked. I can’t wait for the next read in the Mirror Lake Witches series, it’s a crazy place to live but a great place to visit.

Delightful tale. Ridley is a young witch coming into her powers: very much an inexperienced teenager. Nonetheless, she is willing to face the evil bad guy because it's the right thing to do. Friends and family play important parts in her life. I just wish that she was strong enough to seek out their help rather than seemingly thinking of them as burdens or liabilities But then I guess that might be part of the "Coming of Age" nature to the story. Plenty of other interesting characters make appearances throughout the story. I look forward to seeing all of them grow in depth as the story unwinds. I hope that you enjoy the story as much as I did.

I received a copy of this book as a gift. This is my honest review.

This is a great book! I couldn't put it down, it really caught my interest. I like the fact that it incorporates many different supernatural beings and they work together instead of against. I love the fact that she was still trying to help her boyfriend after everything.

Ridley is a witch and lives in Mirror Lake. She is still learning her magic and spells. Her crippling headaches are caused by someone from the other side who wants her attention. Benjie is her newly turned vampire boyfriend. Can they defeat the danger coming their way? Great story and looking forward to the next one

This author is amazing. Her Mirror Lake Wolves series kept me intrigued and this new series is just as brilliant. Ridley’s story is full of emotions and ups & downs. I loved every word. Recommend to all

Intriguing

I wasn't sure how I'd like Ridley's story, but this first book in her series is so much fun. As always, there's danger in Mirror Lake, but this time it's up to Ridley to solve it. You still see plenty of the wolves and vampires we know and love, but I'm really excited to see the witches' journey!

Gray Magic is the first book in a new series. This book draws you in and won't let you go. Ridley has a form of magic that is unique and she is looking for ways to learn more about it. I really enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more.

Fantastic Read

I loved Ridley in the Mirror Lake Wolves series. So of course I knew I had to read her story. I adore Benji and I was happy to see some old faces. Ridley and crew may be in for a fight in this series.
This book is so good. If you love all things Paranormal. This is for you.

I knew there was going to be a cliffhanger but what the fudge Jennifer! Gray Magic ended way too soon, things were just getting juicy so the moment I finished it and all I could say was "wtf" over and over again, I immediately went and bought the second book because I just have to know what happens next!

I absolutely adored Ridley in the Mirror Lake Wolves series so I'm so happy she got her own spin-off! Following along with her as she learns how to handle her new found powers, Jennifer writes brilliantly that it feels like you've fallen into the story and are right there next to the characters that it's easy to get lost in the pages! I couldn't get enough the moment I started reading, I loved being back in this world!

Overall this was an amazing start to the series and even though I said it was just getting juicy at the end, I promise the whole story was entertaining and a beautiful build up for the rest of the series! Never once was I bored as I devoured the words! Also, if you never read the original series this is a spin-off to, that's okay because Jennifer gives little reminders here and there about everything for the characters that it's easy to follow along! If you have read the Mirror Lake Wolves series then you'll love seeing those characters help Ridley along her journey!

This is a spin-off of the mirror lake wolf series. Our main heroine is 18 yr old Ridley and shes a witch. She likes practicing spells and using her magic skills but thats not her only powers. She is also an “Ancher” which is someone who can sense spirts or souls who are no longer living. Its a huge burden and tries to block them as much as she can but its a painful experience doin that. After struggling for a while she decides to give in and not block them anymore. The minute she does that everything changes. Time is ticking and she must find the girl the soul instructed before she is killed by an evil witch and vampire named Bram. Looks like Ridley is in for a roller coaster because Bram is just getting started.

Gray Magic

Continuing from the Mirror Lake stories and it is very good. Ridley is having problems with being connected to the other side. She wants to find a way to control the other side from contacting whenever they want to.
This time, was someone wanting a family member protected. A lot of drama and action within the story.

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
This series is a spin off from The Mirror Lake Wolves which I absolutely loved! This spin off was alright. I was expecting to fall in love with the spin off series as much as I liked the Mirror Lake Wolves Series, but it fell short for me.
Ridley was not a character who I loved in Mirror Lake Wolves, but I didn't dislike her. She was just there. I was expecting more from this book and to learn something new from Ridley.
Overall, this book was alright, but not something I would go back and re-read. I am hoping to learn more about Ridley in the next book in the series.

I was interested in reading more about Ridley after knowing her in the Mirror lake wolves series. However, I was a bit disappointed because there was nothing much going on in this book except for her constant nagging about her headache, and we only saw some action towards the end of the book.

There's nothing more for me to rant here, just that this book was easy to digest, and I hope that in the next book, we get to read more action and that Ridley can finally get a better grip on her witchy ability.

How did so many people enjoy this book? I did not read the Mirror Lake Wolves, so I may have no attachment to the universe...but still. All I got was a whiny teen/adult (I couldn't really tell if the main character was 14 or 19). So many eye rolls. Such a shallow plot. Meh...not for me.

EXCERPT FROM GRAY MAGIC (MIRROR LAKE WITCHES, BOOK 1):

“Exactly as I feared,” she whispered.

I waited for her to elaborate. When she didn’t, I asked, “What is?”

Her gaze remained fixed on the bottom of her mug. It was almost as though she was willing whatever she saw there to change somehow.

“Something bad is coming,” she muttered. “I’ve felt it for days, but the tea leaves just confirmed it for me. I wish I knew more details so we could prepare.”

When she left the kitchen in a daze, my stomach twisted. Did her feeling have anything to do with the headache I was fighting to keep at bay or was something sinister coming to Mirror Lake soon?

I sipped the rest of my peppermint-basil tea in the quiet kitchen, contemplating what the leaves might be regarding. Once I finished, I glanced in the bottom of my mug. My heartbeat grew sluggish as I stared at the clumped together leaves.

Even though reading tea leaves had never been my specialty, I could still decipher what I saw—a crow-like shape, one I knew stood for death.
