Volume one, 'Breed of a Werewolf' - Stanley Swanson believes that war one day will happen of the creatures of the night but involve humans. He reaches out to a retired journalist 'Kain' in hopes that if he shares the secrets with him of both Werewolf and Vampires, that if a war does occur that humans will join sides with the Breed of Werewolf. Kain is then taken on a journey as he and 'Stanley' become very close and a friendship is made quickly as Kain agrees to write the journal. When the knowledge of what Stanley is doing with this mortal is leaked out, the highest of all vampires known as 'Drackulis', set a war in place. Stanley's family is immediately put at risk by a Drackulis known only as 'Gravakus'. It is then upon Stanley's return home with Kain that he soon learns that he himself has put his breed and more importantly his family at risk. Finding out later of the attacker, Stanley and his older brother 'Stephen' set out to take action upon Gravakus.

This book has werewolves, vampires, and humans, what more can we ask for? I thought the book was exciting and different. The story is very entertaining and the characters are exciting to me and fresh. You should try this book out and see what you think. Okay first let me start by saying, this is not my typical genre. So when I started reading, I was a bit skeptical, but that changed quickly. This book took me less than a day n a half to completely read and WOW!! I was blown away.

Being as I've never read a book in this genre, I had no clue what could be right or wrong, but let me tell you. I believe this story to be so real. The scenarios, the characters, the passion shown by the author was remarkable. I am not only now a forever fan of this genre, but also a forever fan of the author.

The storyline was well written and thought out. The characters are ones that you can relate to. The "happenings" make you question if this is real or was it just thought up.

(I'm seriously questioning everything I know as of now.)

I loved this book. It is a different but a great take on Vampires and Werewolves. The characters were so well written it made you really cared for them and wanted to know all you can about them. The werewolfs really want to live a life away from humans as they are better then humans of course and have no need fro them . But Stanly, did not give them much choice when he brought Kain in to the mix of the breed . this book is a must ready for any supernaturally fan. I can not wait to read more of these books and more by S.k.

Book One ... Stanley Swanson ... A concept that definitely attracts me. There is a depth to the story, a stirring of emotions, and the connection this book made with me went beyond the tale itself ... it went through to the author. There is something beautiful about that. Ballinger obviously writes from his soul, and that is powerful. I look forward to learning more about the Swansons.

Readers are introduced to powerful creatures like the Vampire Drackulis, the werewolf 'Zea and a host of others. Well-written, even if the author’s style isn’t my preferred, and with well-developed characters. The author has the gift for character which comes across in the way he makes them believable. This is a beautiful story with great conflict and a satisfying denouement.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to all myth, fantasy and horror readers. There is no shortage of interesting characters and the characterization throughout the book is fluid, well constructed and believable. An introduction to the series this kicks off the legend and myth perfectly and leads you to ponder the possibilities of what might or would happen after the book has ended. The book may have been over when I turned the last page, but the story certainly hasn't, so thank heaven that there are more books to feed the desire to know more. If you are a fan of myth, legend, folklore and the Gothic then you will not be disappointed with this book. Being the first book in a series you are aware that the author is still finding their literary voice, meaning a couple of very small sections feel a tiny bit disjointed, but it doesn't take long for that voice to truly to come through, and afterwards there is no stopping them. Excellent book to get taken away with and absorbed into.

Stanley Swanson wanted to prevent war between the werewolves and vampires so found a human to tell about both than because of that he ended up losing his wife his brother and his friend who he was telling about the myths and he was on a hunt for the ones who took his family the war has started can Stanley stop it and save his pack and his kids this book will grab you so you will not want to put it down make sure you have plenty of time cause you WILL NOT WANT TO STOP READING HIS STORY
