Virgin Beauty

Rate this book
The 6'2" virgin...

The new town veterinarian had a lot to offer - striking good looks, sharp wit, and a fantastic intellect. Yet so far, no man had been able to see beyond Grace McKenna's considerable height. So the virginal beauty couldn't contain her amazement when rancher Daniel Cash paid her some much-needed attention. Trouble was, she didn't know if Daniel's attraction was real - or motivated by a startling situation.

Grace knew that only she could save Daniel's family name. And as she fought to keep herself out of temptation's way, she also fought her feminine need to give in to her own desires.

Could she trust Daniel with her most precious gift and embrace her womanhood for once...for always...forever?

The heroine comes to town after buying her own vet practice, she is doing what she loves and is prepared for people talking about her, after all that has happened all her life because she is tall, more than 6 ft and that doesn't make her feel feminine or that someone can love her for herself. The hero is there to welcome her and he is an ass, why because he is resentful of the heroine, she is living his dream and his practice. The hero was a vet student when in his last semester he was kicked out after being accussed of cheating, his dreams crashed and his wife of seven months left him, he became a bitter guy, working his ass of at his family ranch. He is a jerk end number of times in the book, questioning the heroine's competency, making up for his lack and she calls him on it that she is not to be blamed for what happened to him, she is not his ex. By all rights the heroine should have left the hero and I should have hated him but somehow I didn't, the suspense comes out of the blue and I liked it. Even the hero's brother who had fallen so low in his grief was likeable. The hero actually made the heroine feel feminine though it was mixed with his crap, all in all I enjoyed the book.

Surprisingly good romantic suspense novel.
The heroine is a smart-independent-strong ..... and tall veterinarian moving in a small US town to start an independent career.
The hero is a rancher with many failures in his past life (expelled from university & dumped by his ex-wife) and family issues in his present (his brother wants to sell the shares of their ranch): he “hates” the h from the beginning because she is having the career he always dreamt about.
But this is HP, so envy is mixed with an instant attraction that results in a sort of pull-push game with a hero in “hot pursuit”.
Also the heroine fully participates in the game: there is a conflict between her strong exterior and a vulnerable-naive personality.... she longs to feel like a pampered woman protected by a man and not always “one of the guys”.
They surrender to their sizzling chemistry but crimes of the past and new crimes seem to kill any blossoming feeling: mistrust/suspicions/antagonism lead to separation, while many side characters seem to have reasons for committing the crimes.
The mystery has good moments of tension, considering this is an HP romance but ..... all’s well that ends well, folks!
Anyway, the characterization was good, both H/h were truly likable; their interaction is full of steam but also emotional; the hero learns to finally deal with the past and learn to love again and our heroine fights like a tigress for the truth .... and true love, of course 😄
