Many of the poems dealt with themes common to the Jewish community and many of the poems used words like Havdalah and Kiddush which I had to look up in the glossary in the back of the book. However, the many thoughts and feelings embedded in Siegel's writings came through to me, a Christian, which makes me sad to read the last sentence of the author's biography -- "His books and talks have received considerable acclaim throughout the entire North American Jewish community." I believe this book should be read by all cultures and religious faiths -- all people with "A Hearing Heart." I found several lines from poems in this book that I treasure. For example, "May God grant us the greatest gift of all -- Peace -- Speedily And in our own time."
