A Fun, Engaging Read That Children Will Love
I thoroughly enjoyed this fifth book in the Clicker the Cat series: Healthy Tech Habits for Kids. Children will easily relate to Clicker the Cat and his friends. He is funny and makes mistakes like all of us. In this book he is both a victim and cyberbully.
Author Cullinane tells a delightful story in rhyming verse with a great message about cyberbullying, how it makes others feels, and how to respond in a way that changes dynamics: respect others and be kind. As Author Cullinane’s Dedication says: To kids and Adults everywhere: choose kindness. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.
Cullinane has excellent advice at the end on how to protect your children from trolls and cyberbullies: “. . . a child can be both the cyberbully and the victim. That’s why it is important to teach children that they need to treat others the way they want to be treated, online and offline.” She then provides her top five tips to teach children how to defeat cyberbullies.

This is a funny story about a character called Clicker. Clicker loves his screen time more than anything else in the world. He indulges in cyberbullying by posting a bad comment about his friend’s toy review. Clicker’s best friend, Digi the dog warns him, but Clicker is very quick to hit the send button. Clicker eventually learns a lesson the hard way when he gets mean comments about his dance moves on social media.
My favorite character of the story is Digi because he tells Clicker to do the right thing. I also liked that this story teaches us kindness towards others both in person and on social media
I think other young readers would really enjoy reading this book and learn from it.
